Hey I need a little guidance with my Balance Druid. As you know they changed our AoE so that is centered around us and shoots out in a wide radius. I have been having issues with it. Specifically it will sometimes tag mobs I have not engaged and thus pull a huge crowd on me. Other times it will just remain neutral to aggressive targets I have not engaged. I cannot figure out if it is bugged. What is more, given the range of the AoE I am no longer confidant in using the ability where mob density is high. Any guidance or tips would be much appreciated. Thank you.
There’s a few hiccups, but the general rule is:
If the mobs are not engaged (with you/party/other mobs), they will not aggro.
So the mobs in specific areas or dungeons that are mock fighting each other, Starfall will trigger those. If you haven’t engaged any mobs and there’s none of that “mock fighting” going on with mobs, you can trigger Starfall and run around and not tag any mobs

Starfall will hit anything that is in combat. It does not matter if it is in combat with you or another mob or hostile faction. If the target is not considered in combat of any type, then starfall ignores it.
That’s what I’ve noticed. Anything in combat. Just that rule.
Ok that makes more sense now. I was wondering what was going on and looking back there were mobs mock fighting around me. Well that kind of sucks. It really limits what we can do in tight spaces when Horde and Alliance are engaging lots of mobs. I wish they would have given us more control over it. It is night and day from what it was. It will take some getting use to and more situational awareness. Thanks for the feedback!
