Standing still on the ground for 3 seconds should completely refill your Vigor

There’s no reason you should have to just stand there doing nothing while you wait to be able to get back into the sky. You’ve lost all your momentum, you’re on the ground, starting from zero, you should at least have all your Vigor Pips refilled so you can get back to it.

If they’re going to make you choose one flight method or another, then let’s at least make each choice more appealing.

Static Flying speed should gradually increase to 550% movement speed, over however long. Stopping for like, 2 or 3 seconds should reset this, for people that want to fine tune their landing or whatever. So when you get in the sky and press autorun, you just slowly get faster as you go in a straight line.

And obviously swapping between the two should be instant cast. (Or at the very least, if it can’t be, come clean and actually tell us WHY it has to be a 5 second cast, instead of acting like it’s some sort of self-evident thing.)

at the very least being on the ground should charge at least as fast as they have it charging in the air.
It has been 3 times faster in air than on ground, which is befuddling, to say the least.

Well, I mean you don’t have to just stand there. You can keep moving or explore or whatever. Let’s not optimize the fun out of Dragonflying. Just my opinion though.

That one is pretty clearly theyre ongoing hatred of old flight.
Make it just annoying enough so that no one wants to swap between the two, meaning the vast majority never use old flight at all…and its left to be ‘tolerated’ for fear of removing it and losing too many players still.

My guess is they are trying to phase old flight out, but are still unsure how many are actually going to quit if they do it all at once.

All of my flying mounts should be able to do skyswimming. Who decided dragons are the only ones capable of such feats?

You don’t need to guess, it’s obvious the reason is to introduce friction. if you could just switch instantly people would dragonride for long distances and fly for abusing quests and world interactions.

By making it take a few seconds, a player might instead decide "eh, I could just kill the mob that’s in my way instead of spending 5 seconds switching and 5 seconds switching back.

For the people who want old flying this should never happen to them - they don’t need to switch, they wanted old flying!

For the people that wanted dragon riding, they don’t need to switch either!

This 5 second penalty only applies for people who want to abuse afk air swimming while also having the convenience of dragon riding speed, and those people should definitely experience friction.

I kind of want them to just say that instead of this passive aggressively “cute” little annoyance.

I mean, I REALLY want an actual solution, but I’d settle for honesty. Just summon the courage and lay it out on the table for all to see.

Or if you do want to be irksome, at least be a little less transparent about it.

Naw, but I do think entering a rested area should make you regain 1 vigor a second, if not an instant fill.

I understand not wanting it in the random world, but if I visit a city, I should have my vigor restored for when I want to leave the city.

Treasures, killing stuff, gathering minerals/herbs should all give vigor back AND should keep refilling vigor even if you take off instead of only while grounded.
