Do one thing that makes one person happy, three others will hate you for it.
Such is people, I’m afraid.
I posted something like this prior to the release of Shadowlands.
I asked what happens if there are two stinkers in a row?
Folks were so married to the idea of good expansion-bad-good-bad pattern that the idea was ignored by and large.
Now we’ll get to ask: what happens when there are three stinkers in a row?
The talent that made the good expansions does not work at Activision/Blizzard anymore.
I understand your specific point, but it’s general to the human condition. That’s why we have idioms like “You can’t please all of the people all of the time”. It’s true. As individuals we have enough varied persepectives that “one size fits all” is rarely true.
My honest gut feeling is that DF will “be okay”. It may take the first year to iron out the whoopsies, but by the end of the expansion, I’m guessing a majority of players will think it was at least “okay”.
Of course, that gut feeling goes against everything my analytical mind tells me.
Time for another idiom, eh?
“Hope springs eternal…”
I know im a paid blizzard shill n all but ive actually overall liked bfa and sl and think the social media opinions of them arent entirely indicative of the playerbases feelings as a whole. Sometime in the transition from legion to bfa something about this fanbase broke and every discussion board has turned into a complaining conpetition. Seriously its amazing how much better these expansions are when you stop coming here and are surrounded by negative opinions all the time.
I hear you. I personally enjoyed BfA.
My post above reflected the “general feel” from the community.
I absolutely hated the latter half of BfA… the void crap did not appeal to me personally. At ALL. HATED it.
And the quoted part is true of ANY game. If people are unhappy, the forums are where they go to say so. There are always unhappy players.
That doesn’t explain away truly bad design or decisions. Those are worth complaining about.
While thats true to an extent, its really eye opening to say, browse the osrs reddit, or like any other game. Yes theres complaints but most of them are at least somewhat constructive. Theres still plenty of fluff posts that are someone being happy they accomplished something. Here it seems to be nothing but destructive. Flat out hating a game
I’ve seen people saying they’ll quit because they can’t change covenants fast enough. If that is the sole factor it takes for them to quit a game filled with an entire world, then those same people will quit over nothing.
“Does this unit have a soul”?
It’d be nice to see more criticism, and less complaining. Few seem to know they aren’t one and the same.
Why do you call me out like this?
I’ve tried to explain this before but then they say “throwing a fit is the only way to get their attention!!!”
Yeah, the attention they get is being written off as immature whiners.
