The split at the moment is about 68% horde and 32% alliance.
For a server that’s 3 weeks old, it’s only going to get worse.
There are a lot of servers with a decent balance, but with the recent census Stalagg is far and beyond the worst, with Westfall being the most Alliance favored.

Sure they did. PVP servers are great, and always have been. Some people don’t like them. OK.
My first pvp server had a faction imbalance in favor of the other faction. It was still a great server, and I enjoyed leveling on it, during BC. We had some fun world pvp, while leveling, but that was my preference, not everyone like it.
What about pvp servers didn’t work?

I did not say that. What I said is that PvP servers did not work the first time. They will go exactly the same way the second time.
That is why you’re here swimming upstream. Your server is already lost man. It is a Horde server.
Disagree entirely, it’s not lost.
In a month =/= or when server transfers become available, it will be.
PvP servers inevitably become lopsided heavily favoring one faction over the other.
This kills off whatever remaining population there is for the faction with the population disadvantage.
The PvP server essentially becomes a normal server for one faction.
OP is on a Horde PvP server. Alliance players in turn will flock to Alliance PvP servers.

On the server I was on, Laughing Skull, during BC, I was Horde, and Alliance had some one of the top world guilds, Deus Vox or something; I think they already had and maintained a popular addon or something. There were a couple pretty well known guilds on the Alliance side.
However lopsided the population was, that certainly didn’t seem to kill off the population. It was a great server, and I really enjoyed it… until I didn’t. There was this great Cataclysmic event, and soon after most of the main guilds started losing a lot of members, and eventually seemed to die out…
That certainly didn’t happen due to some faction imbalance… at least, not from my perspective. Please point me in the direction of anything that might change that perspective though.
I’m already on Stalagg though. (and I don’t plan on leaving)

I just want to transfer to a better server… not some low pop server. Feels bad leveling this guy.
I walk around and see 10 horde v 1 alliance.

The guild I’m incontemplated leaving too, but we stayed. Say what you want, but I feel alliance is more tight knit on Stalagg, people form horde kill groups to protect STV and darkshire. Everyone jumps in against gankers and even though I died a decent amount in STV, it was not entirely due to rampant horde aggression. Stuff still sells on the AH and you can get dungeons done. Are we the underdogs? Sure but I think those alliance that stay on Stalagg will have a far better faction community.
TlDR: Stalagg has a great tight knit alliance community, so come join us for that!

There is a difference between being a scrappy underdog and being an Eastern European country during the Cold War.
True but even in phase 2 that depends on how likely you are going to run into such a high number of horde players as a coordinated alliance group that want to take you on that the numbers win it for them. That being said yes wpvp will defo change in p2 as wpvp is directly insentivised
