Does it bother anyone else that when using a staff the player character doesn’t use the staff as a walking stick? They run with it by their side.

Yeah. It would be cool to use it as a walking stick while RP walking. But to be fair, default movement is run and we’d look really silly with a super fast movement cane. I’m pretty sure I’d trip and fall if I ran with a walking stick and didn’t hold it up off the ground at my side.

We’ve seen Gandalf run, he kinda keeps the staff in front of himself while running which looks cooler imo

FFXIV does this particularly well with its Mage classes. I’m sure GW2 has a variety of weapon-running stances as well. I do wish we could toggle the option for Staff Casting, though. It could be very cool.

This isn’t a thing in FFXIV.
They have different standing poses you can use, but there’s no walking stick animation for white or black mages. Lol.

My bad. You’re correct – it’s RUNNING poses. The Staff is held like Gandalf does, as someone here pointed out iirc. Indeed they Don’t use the staff – it doesn’t touch the ground… I imagine that would be quite the undertaking for these old MMO engines… and just tough to pull off because of all the rapid terrain bumps and valleys.
