Staff usage for Holy Paladins please

Please grant Holy Paladins the ability to wield Staves and cast Denounce while equipped instead of SotR.

All other healers can use Staff, even Resto Shaman who can also use Shields and Mistweaver Monk a melee healer. Survival Hunters can even wield staves.

I know, I know “just play a Priest” comments, yes Priest is Holy and can have a staff, this is just more reason why a Holy Paladin would be able to as well.

Holy paladins are technically Knights so i dont really think staffs make any sense

Paladins in lore are a mix of priests and knights, so you could be a priest who became a paladin rather than a knight. But I think adding staves would be damaging to the spec’s identity of a “melee” healer, which is how I’ve always pictured them personally. I don’t know if this identity has changed recently though.

Holy paladins carry hammers and maces but they also carry swords basically anything a knight would have it changes for the situation but we would never have a staff. There would be no reason to be wearing full plate armor and wield a staff.

No thanks to staves. We’re holy knights, not cloistered priests.

Disagree with Staff. We are knights of the light. The staff doesn’t make sense.

I agree we should have a ranged option for SoTR but for 2 handed Swords and Hammers. not for staffs

Hmm, what’s that, did you say Warrior can equip staff, Survival Hunter can equip staff, Shaman can equip staff. No, no Pally, bad, you are a Knight. Must wield sword and hammer.

It’s all good, there’s plenty of staff wielding classes to choose from. But please give me a break with all the “it doesn’t make sense” because that’s just laughable.

I’m always up for additional choices for customization. There are a lot of great looking staff appearances that I would love to use for my Paladin. Ignore the naysayers. Paladins are hybrid Priest / Warrior, both of which can use staves.

I also would like to see HPal given a passive that promotes the use of 2H weapons:

Armored By the Light - Your armor is increased by 45% while wielding a 2H weapon.

or

Zealotry - The effects of Crusader’s Reprieve are increased by 50% while wielding a 2H weapon.

And while we’re talking about it, rename Crusader’s Reprieve to Seal of Light.
