Stacking Nameplates

These default stacking nameplates just aren’t stacking. 40% of my interrupts don’t hit what I want and the only way I’ve been able to do it better is to click on the individual mob and interrupt. That .5 seconds to do that matters. A lot. Make Stacking Nameplates Great Again.

But they are better because they are blizzards vision, trust me

I 100% support your message

the plater addon still works.

It doesn’t do stacking distance for me anymore. does it for you?

Playtnator to fix what Blizz failed at. Platynator is life!

Moon fire don’t hit what I want.

I was very excited for default name plate. The Agro Threat part is confusing. The dots don’t apply who I want it to apply.

It has the same issue as plater and standard nameplates though: nameplates overlaps when you pull a bunch of mobs and casts doesn’t show up in the front of all the nameplates.

Increase the stack region height in the positioning tab. PlusMouse suggests 180% to see the castbars for interrupts.

Haven’t played around with platynator enough to verify, I know it doesn’t work very well for plater though.

Are nameplates actually playable with that stacking distance or do they cover your entire screen from time to time?

I haven’t noticed an issue with nameplates covering my entire screen, no. But I don’t have them at a hugely large size either.

i find that priority nameplates tend to rise to the top.

i mostly play tank. pre-pull the mobs are color coded by melee, caster, i generally find it much easier to read than the native plates.

It feels like certain camera angles really make the stacking plates a mess. Even with Platynator and increasing the stacking region to over 200% there are times in large pulls you just can’t get the spell casts to show clearly. It would be nice if Blizzard could get the stacking to work like it did in Plater before the nuke. At this point Blizzard should just steal the old plater coding. At least it would work correctly again.

I guess mine are too basic and small to have this issue? I’m not sure.

Too much is dying in the Delve for me to get a large enough group for a good screenshot.

I had to set mine to like 225% to get big packs of nameplates to not be a complete mess.

None of those plates are stacked at all and don’t need to be in your screenshot (thanks for sharing!). When I tank and need to look around for pats/adds/aggro there’s almost no stack. If I’m only focused on a small group and put my camera above I can see similar to what you show. Anything else and it’s a big mess

Stacking is turned on in Platynator. I dunno. That’s why I shared the screenshot.

that sounds nice. i haven’t found that at all. it’s super frustrating to see a cast go off because you literally can’t select that mob.

Tested, it’s the same as plater. You can change the spacing to some extent, but nameplates starts floating much more too which makes them hard to click.

That sucks. I’m sorry. :frowning:

Best I can say is to talk to PlusMouse in his Discord. See if he’s got any suggestions or if there’s anything he can do to make changes that might help. I know nameplates are limited by Blizz, though.

Which… is probably the underlying issue for OP and everyone else. And that makes it even worse. :frowning:

This is the real issue tbh. No matter what I’ll change in the settings I’ll have to either deal with nameplates being hard to find in a cluster, or nameplates shifting around a lot.
