Trying to get the furthest shot I can. Going for low haste and instead focusing on mastery/versa. It’ll be all in the opening shot I’m assuming for me…after that who knows.
How bad am I putting myself in the hole by not focusing on haste.
This is also tempting me to skip over on the tier sets.
Is this for pve or pvp?
pvp. I want to be able to open at max distance.
You’re going for a one-shot cheese build?
Then yeah, haste wouldn’t really do much for you. Haste is more for the long game and chaining your CCs.
The verdict is still out though, can a full strength Mastery stacked Aimed Shot even kill anything in 1 global? If not then your build will just flop and having high Range wont do much for you lol
But for science I support your ambitions.
I ran high mastery in BFA for fun in WM. Pulling off insane range Sniper Shots, was able to kill warlocks without them ever being able to get within 40 yard range.
Its fun for casual WM play. Probably not for anything serious though
It’s a “me” thing, totally my preference, but I dislike haste on MM because we got stuff that makes using aimed shot easier.
For example, after each rapid fire, your aimed shot speeds up by 30% or something.
When you are bursting, you usually have trueshot up which makes aimed shot cast much faster.
And to be honest, making aimed shot from a 2.1 second cast to 2 second or 1.9 second cast doesnt matter much to me. The difference becomes even less when you are on trueshot or after rapid fire.
Of course haste isnt all about aimed shot, it affects other stuff and I could be wrong about numbers, but the main thing I wanted to get off is the feel.
So I just go vers/mastery. I totally enjoy it.
Haste affects focus regen too. If your one shot build one shots, then success. If not, continued use of the harder hitting abilities gets put on hold while you use things that dont cost resources or generate them. I went for 13% haste so far with honor gear.
for your idea i would not run with mastery/versa on every item
possibly i would take some haste to a low cap to have enough focus regen after your opening to somehow manage the retreat if needed.
luck (crit) is part of the game and we can a fair amount of crit with a few pieces and Serrated Tips.
To maximize your busrt, the 4p set bonus looks okay => you skip either the legs or chest depending on the availability of a vers/mastery piece
Then you can tweak your haste/crit ratio by crafting 1 ring or by sockets
Keep up updated on your sniper “1 shot 1 kill” build

U can 100% run full mastery vers build… its better earlier seasons before we hit big dr caps on our stats… we have crit modifiers already built in and plenty of haste now with in the rythm and steady focus in next patch… i will be ignoring tier sets altogether and running pure mastery vers… i focus mostly on 2s but i also only run double dps where big burst goes is the play… in solo shuffle if you struggle with landing cc u can opt to run a bit of haste but up to you… have fun with what u enjoy and in doing so you will win anyway
