I would love to see a Shared Bank for SSF toons. I understand that with SSF its all about finding your upgrades yourself, but why does it have to be locked to each individual character?
Its a great way to get people to run multiple SSF toons at the same time. Find a sweet blue drop? Nice! Now roll a warrior that can use it. Want to take enchanting but cant make the rods? Just have your warrior blacksmith make them and send them through the bank.
Honestly I think this will give SSF players a reason to roll and play multiple toons. It makes it not feel so bad when you get a blue/purple drop that your class cant use. It also makes it so you can actually fully use all of the professions like they are meant to be used.
Please Blizzard consider SSF Shard Bank. Please comment below and see if we can get some traction on this!
you can play this way in normal HC
SF is not for everyone.

Yes but only if it’s restricted to level 60 SF characters only amongst your other 60 SF characters.
Level 1’s should not be able to be given twink gear and 16-slot bags from your main.

You mean for characters you elect to create as self found/SF, correct?
If that is the case then no.
You want to pass items to other characters on your account? Play HC without the Self Found designation and you can do that all you want.

The only thing I would like, is an option for SF to sell (but not buy) on AH. I feel so bad vendoring a real good random drop. Others could use it.
I see your point, that would be an issue having high level toon twinking out new rolls.
Really what got me started on this was wanting to take tailoring enchanting on my warlock. Problem is that enchanting is a no go because you need a blacksmith to create the rods. So unless you take bs all the way up to get every rod you will need then drop it the profession becomes locked.
I guess the right answer is “you are not hardcore enough for hardcore”, it just seems like a pointless grind when I could be doing something I would actually enjoy with my SSF toon.
What about the possibility of either taking the profession cap off and being able to learn each profession OR have a SSF vendor that would sell certain items that are required for a profession to progress that are crafted from another profession.
Just trying to come up with ideas to help smooth over professions that were designed with an mmo in mind when you are playing in a mode where you cant trade.
You do know you’re not bringing up something new here? If you search, you’ll find 100s of threads on this. The opinions seem to be divided into these two:
- This is SF and how it’s meant to be - live with it. What you express with: “you are not hardcore enough for hardcore” - I’d prefer not SF enough for SF

- Blizz please gief solution, either an in-game vendor or allow more professions. Literally he same you say too.
In short. Nothing new under the sun.
PS: It is SF and not SSF, grouping etc. are allowed.

Because that’s the point.
That warrior would no longer be sf, the other character found the item.
If you want to play what looks to be a “account bound” game, you have other options. Take your retail features and as the female dwarf says, “get bent”.
Saying it in a much nicer way. Thanks.

Taps the sign:
“Self found means that each character has an independent journey. You don’t have to play self found.”

Struggling to balance your funds is a huge part of SF. If you sell things, you suddenly have unlimited gold.

Hmm. I do not quite agree here - Skinning/herbalism will line your purse quite well in my opinion.
I never tried self found only, but I have played IronMan for many years. There I struggle with G (and bags!) the first 15 levels or so, after this it’s quite smooth sailing, and I never sold much on AH - as hinted in my post actually only really good drops (like Killmaim) which I find too good to just vendor.
For those not knowing what IronMan means:
- no help whatsoever from others (but you can help) of course this means no help from your own characters either.
- white/grey gear only (all bags and mounts allowed)
- no proffs (only 1st aid)
- no talents points (tough in HC)
- no groups and no Dungeons
- no buffs but your own class specific ones.
- no death
no talent points is boring dude
i could never play like that

Because it’s self found.

Yeah I think they have “self” confused between they themselves as a player (so their entire account) rather than the “self” of the character.

IronMan is not for everybody

After seeing all the pouting and squirming over SF rules, could you even imagine all the whining for “minor changes” if an Ironman variation were to happen. This forum would be on fire.

I can imagine, yes, Like: Gief talent points! Oh, just ONE green item won’t hurt! Dungeons, we want dungeons! … But I’m also not asking for an IronMan mode. Since IronMan was “invented” back in 2012, all we’ve been asking for is some kind of in-game recognition; and I think the Soul of Iron buff is this nod to us
I don’t play SF either, as I want to sell that random drop on AH, and not vendor it (allowed within IronMan rules to buy and sell at AH - I never buy, but that’s just me
)
