Resubbed for TBC last week and got in on a couple 20 man pugs.
Wasn’t aware that if you didn’t Hard Reserve something, everyone was allowed to roll on an item anyways. They can then “sell” it back to you if you’re interested.
This is how people make money in raids now I guess?
What happened to need before greed

I don’t really like HR/SR but as far as I have seen when Binds on Pickup items are not reserved they are free rolled using MS>OS. If items are BOE they would be freeroll for all because you can sell them.
I’m not the biggest fan of HR/SR either, but it does keep classes from rolling on gear they don’t need, especially hunters.
Typical for SR pugs, thry have a much higher percent of scammers.
people complained about GDKP so now people HR everything. game of cry babies.

That’s when you report them to blizzard because selling BoP loot for gold is against the rules.

its not against the rules. its been done for over a year on anniversary so if your statement was true then why has no one been banned for it yet?

you can report if you want but nobody is getting banned for it
There was a blue post by orlya stating it’s fine but i can’t find it. Once you win gear you are free to do what you want, including selling it. Thats what the blue post said more or less.

yup. I mean even without that post ive been playing anniversary for a year now. I have many alts in different guilds and join pugs all the time.. the selling loot after you win it or even selling SRs has been going on since the start. Not a single person has come out saying they got banned for this in an entire year so yeah its not against the rules lol

Don’t join groups with those stupid reserve rules, problem solved.

when those groups are the only game in town its hard.
theres no gdkp groups allowed so … ya get what ya get.
Indeed. The general solution is as it has always been… either join, or create, a guild with loot rules to your liking.
Having said that, there is a caveat. When a loot system becomes too pervasive, not because it’s good but because it’s forced on the community because of certain properties, choice becomes limited. So if SR/HR starts to get dominated by gold sellers and almost every run is a front for item sale, Blizzard will likely need to address this.
I’m not saying we are there, I’m super out of touch with the common vibe given where I play, but I’ve learned to not underestimate the lengths people who want to profit off of wow will go to, nor the lengths that players will go to in order to effectively skip the game’s content.

Yes everyone can roll on items that aren’t SRed or HRed. Did you think you just get all of those items???
Seems like you are just a greedy person.
You can also make your SR run MS +1 so that if someone wins an item they can’t win every item.
If only you setup your run rules correctly you wouldn’t have these problems.
Skill issue basically lil bro.

Yeah could be worse, could have mages buying melee weapons in gdkps because they weren’t happy with how cheap things were going

Like that one mage buying melee weapons because they got their feelings hurt.
Just one of the basic scams in GDKPs.

heh you guys act like people dont hr all the good drops and leave their servant labor who clear the raid the scraps while they sell all the high end items for irl money or gold all the time.
at least with gdkps the people in the raid all get a cut.

lol but selling those items that the whole raid team earned for you for irl cash or straight gold to the raid lead isnt ?
heh you really are a strange one.
Ah yes all those HR runs selling loot
maybe like 1?
Meanwhile gdkps had every single item being sold to 100s of different raids a week
