About Square Enix, however… I always deemed it worse than Blizz. I remember that a couple years ago a “neutral” Youtuber asked Blizz, SE and other companies for a small authorisation for some kind of content about MMO games. Blizz and all the others had no problem, SE was so obnoxious that the Youtuber posted a short video where he wondered what exactly was wrong with SE, because their behaviour was completely off the rails.
So no wonder that they are so “excited” (I really hate this word when corporations use it) with the NFT scam.

Pure wisdom. There are already so many ways we are scammed that there is no need to volunteer for more.
This concerns/alarms me too. But it’s possible that changes in technologies will ease the potential impact.

IMHO, the absolute “gold” nugget in that SE declaration is the bit where he speaks about players who insist on playing for fun like they were a king of rare monkey which the survival of the fittest will eventually wipe out.
Blizzard fired sexual harassers, meanwhile Square Enix fires people that tried to report sexual harassment.
Get the facts on both company’s before you try to make a claim kiddo.
Both companies are trash, both companies do not have your best interest at heart, both companies just want your money.
Neither is better than the other, they’re both equally garbage.
Just play the game you like. Nothing should ever matter beyond that.

NFTs are a scam. And Meta is just a good way to spend a ton of money on “virtual goods” only to then get your account banned for crossing a Facebook mod with a milquetoast comment just because he was grouchy that day. Bye bye all your money and goods.
Your concern is valid. I wonder if there will be safeguards against such unilateral power.
