Spymaster's Web Question

May or may not be the place for it, but since I only play my mage… why not. And I’m sure most people have it :slight_smile:

So, I just got my spymasters on Wednesday (normal), but it’s 619 now.

Last night, while raiding - I noticed something weird. We’d kill the trash leading to the boss etc… my trinket is gaining stacks while doing this. Regardless of where the stacks were at (let’s just use 40 for example because that’s what I had going into the 1st boss). When we pulled the boss, and I popped my CDs, and used the trinket - I never got the huge INT buff. It ate the stacks, but the buff never came.

Throughout the fight, as stacks re-gained, then when I used it the buff would become active.

So while the game is showing me I have stacks, when I begin a boss fight, do I really? Or is there some kinda other internal thing I’m missing and I should not be popping it off on initial CD usage because it’ll never actually register.

Has anyone else seen this or know whats going on?

No the stacks reset when the boss is pulled. You can’t farm stacks prior to each boss

Like the dude above me said they reset on boss pulls in raid.

Interesting that the UI continues to show it :slight_smile: (and i use Bliz, not Elv)… thanks for the confirmation!

Well the UI shows the buff because it’s still active. You can use the trinket at any stacks, even zero. So you still get the buff it just doesn’t do anything. It’s a really awkward trinket to use, tbh. Especially if you’re only using the game’s native UI which is woefully inadequate when it comes to tracking buffs.
