Spriest QoL change

While I won’t speak to DPS tuning re: shadow priests (since some tuning is inc with today’s maintenance), I do think that shadow priests need some tweaks to make gameplay a bit smoother overall. The main change that I would love to see right now (outside of damage tuning) is improving Mind Flay!

MF is supposed to be our filler spell, but spriest mana is awful and the damage is so bad that it’s not worth using over wanding until you gain access to shadow form and a higher spell rank. A couple things that I think could be done to help are:

  1. Increase the casting range to 30 yards baseline (like WotLK Classic). 20 yards is an awful distance especially when it comes to raid content (having raided in vanilla classic, it affected raid positioning to the point that you often had to stand with melee groups instead of casters depending on your raid strat for bosses). This is an essential tweak that I feel needs to happen, no matter what other changes are considered. (Maybe bake it into TF if the spell itself can’t be changed?)

  2. Consider adjusting the mana cost. This could offset the low dps so spriests would consider using it as filler over wanding so they can try to better maintain Shadow Weaving stacks to (mostly) buff shadow Warlocks. (Utility!)

There are definitely other areas that spriests could be adjusted, but I think that this would be a nice start to at least make the gameplay feel a bit better.

Completely agree with the range of mind flay. Would have to be added to a rune, maybe something to increase mind flay distance but remove or reduce slow to 25% instead of 50. Maybe throw something else in addition to that. Every idea actually needs to be thought of as a rune first instead of tweaking numbers around on abilities since we’re connected to era and hc.

The entire point of this raid is to allow players to create metas around level 25 characters that don’t have access to their entire max level toolkit.
