Spriest or warlock

So with the new changes was wondering how the rotation is and the Damage. Debating on shadow or demo/destruction thanks

Lock all the way, they are Tanky , do a lot of damage and have mobility all over shadow.

Both have their place in raiding and M+. I would say Warlock has more to bring with gates → raid mobility, Rock locks → raid survivability and depending on which Lock spec you play, they do quite a lot of damage.

Priests give utility in a different way, Raid buff → stamina increase, 2 healing specs → raids utilize at least 1 of the specs as a guaranteed spot, Double Power Infusion → VERY strong during downtimes outside of Lusts and other CD’s for designated party members.

But for shadow, they have great single target Damage and Short CD’s for Damage, They provide very quick splash damage, AND they can provide 2 PI’s which if you have another priest, thats 4 people in the raid getting PI which is nice. Otherwise it really depends on what your guild is looking for, or the playstyle you enjoy. I personally play priest 100% in most content.

If all you care about is damage and damage options, go with Lock, hands-down.

Spriest is fun, IMO. But if you’re a strict DPS player, just having alternate specs you can play is great, so I’d say lock. If being able to flex healer appeals to you, spriest all the way.

If you want raid utility, Lock is better for that - but a raid only really needs 1-2 locks to get all the utility they need out of em. If you want M+ utility, they’re kind of a mixed bag - they bring very different things to an M+ group. Lock gives potential for skips (IE: Freehold final pack skip). Spriest brings Mass Dispel and Mind Soothe (which is pretty useful in the current dungeon set), and PI for damage.

As far as rotation/tools, I like Spriest a lot more than playing destro and using havoc. But stuff like that you just kinda have to learn on your own, since I know a bunch of people that love destro.

Lock is the best caster in the game and you have 3 different play styles vs 1.

It’s a no brainer

All through dragonflight I have loved both and it has been hard to decide which to play.

So far Spriest was winning which is a bit surprising because it’s probably my least played character but I was having a blast.

For the first time in a long time spriest was making sense, I had the rotation down. Now… it feels broken, disjointed and confusing again… =/

Yep lock better for raiding.

Maybe spriest for pvp.

Nah locks historically way better in pvp and it’s definitely better right now. Spriest is going to be nerfed soon anyways ….no way blizz is letting 300k void torrents stay in the game

Spriest in pvp was good for their cleave and dispells. Probably really decent r now.

Spriest waa kinda always bad in arena and duels tho except the few patches they where allowed to be bursty and heal at the same time in BFA.

It’s kinda been downhill since.

You’re right tho locks are good. And they always have at least 1 strong spec.

M+ shadow is better and it’s not close

In raid based on current logs, which admittedly will be off this week, shadow is better than lock for overall damage. Lock is very slightly better for damage to bosses.

Lock holds the advantage of having multiple DPS specs too.

Lock has the far stronger 4set and neltharion trinket. Expect to see that reverse as the weeks go on.
