How do you have to wait until lvl 60 to balance this? They literally press 2 buttons, shadow word pain and Void Plague, then walk away and you die even while eating lvl 45 food with dampen magic applied.
This is WITH Dampen Magic on. Classes that cannot heal directly or remove magic and/or diseases can’t even live after an spriest places these 2 debuffs on you without any extra damage. No mind flay, no mind blast, nothing else needed. Just 2 button presses. Cmon

Because PVP is not balanced around 1v1 in the open world.

The new emerald warden rep vendor fixed this. They sell 2 things:
A health potion that heals for about 2k.
A cleanse item that removes a poison, disease, and magic effect.
The classes being imbalanced is one thing, but this is answerable.

Class favoritism is unreal. The fact that they’re looking to buff them again along with the other OP classes is insane…. meanwhile the classes they keep overlooking just remain suffering.
and yet players still playing
The potions are zone specific.
Tbh if dots stay as they are, we at least need much stronger food because right now crossing a SP that double dot you and goes away is a death sentence.

I was using the Friendly Argent Dawn food that restored 2148 hp over 30 sec and I still died from full hp. I wasn’t eating the peasant lvl 35 mage food available atm.
No, I’m leveling my horde priest so I can do this to alliance.
Game is not balanced around 1v1. Void Plague damage is a cooldown that is entirely negated by disease cleanse.
That isn’t to say I don’t think SP aren’t strong in PvP but 1v1 and dueling are not how PvP is balanced.
Yeha just like scorpid poison was entirely negated by poison cleanse and pets were easy to deal with in BGs. Wait.
Let be real, SPs haven’t been nerfed yet because they would take a hit in PvE. At least introduce food that heals for 3x the amount of current lvl 45 food.

This doesn’t happen.
Can’t just come in here exaggerating like this and expect to be taken seriously.
Strong dots, yes.
Will they 100-0 anybody by themselves, no.
You have to at least get the mind blast/SWD combo off, yes both spells, not just SWD, and then maybe they will die from dot damage.
Many times the Spriest is dead at this point too, or in dispersion with about 5% hp left.
Seems balanced.

Spammable poison with no real resource cost from a player who can be 60 yards away =/= a cooldown that requires the player to be within range to apply.
Let’s be real, when is the last time you’ve seen 6-7 Shadow Priests in Warsong? Meanwhile 6-7 Hunters was absolutely a thing you saw in WSG frequently. Not exactly a good comparison.
Except that ability was changed for PVE reasons, on top of being from a pet and not a player. BIG difference.
Once again pets were changed for a PVE reason not a PVP reason.
Correct. It’s the primary function upon which this game is designed. Open world PVP is an optional method of gameplay and is so wildly uncontrollable and varied as to be functionally unable to be balanced without having to ruin every other version of the game.
But as for why DOTs haven’t been nerfed, it’s because DOTs are working exactly as they are designed. The formulas haven’t been changed, and are balanced around the over time and dispellable nature. If you are unable to handle either of those baseline, perhaps it’s time to find some other options for doing so.
But let’s not forget these complaints about spriests are almost always focused on being on a PVP server, getting dotted, and dying. A position where you:
Have 30% less health than other PVP engagements.
Probably don’t have your best PVP gear on all the time.
Are usually unprepared or caught off guard when attacked.
Are likely to be alone.
So like, why exactly is there an expectation for there to be balance with all this going on? Oh right, because whenever someone dies in 1v1 it’s the game’s fault and it should be fixed. You die in world PVP on PVP servers. It’s NEVER going to be fair or balanced. This is a reality that needs to be accepted.
Also buff world PVP health totals. *I get that would require rebalancing all sources of damage to account for the new 30% on mobs, dungeons, etc. And would be more work than will ever be done here.

Scorpid poison is a 4s CD melee range ability from a pet that can be easily CCed or outsmarted. Woah big diff with the long 6s CD from void plague. Also the total damage from scorp poison was relatively (much) lower than VP.
It was changed because the OG formula for scorp poison is nonsense and the issue already arised on retail a while ago when pets got scaling. I agreed with the change.
I was only pointing out that VP is probably not being nerfed because SPs don’t shine in PvE, glad we can agree on that.
The ability is ridiculously busted though. And they do make changes based on PvP tears (see other hunter nerfs and balance druids).
Scorpid poison was literally outdpsing players. Scorpid, the pet by itself, was like the 4th or 5th best class in the game. When you factor in the hunter it was like getting 1.7 players for 1.
Meanwhile Shadow Priests are near the bottom of the meters. VP is not, repeat, NOT Scorpid poison tier busted.
Again, if Shadow Priests were as busted as Scorpid Hunter you would see 40+% of the playerbase as them. They’re not. VP is strong but it’s not that strong, more easily countered, and leaves the player with much less when countered.
If you could drink a single potion to counter BM hunter in phase 1 you wouldn’t see the vast majority of players playing it.
As are pretty much ALL the rune abilities.
nearly all hunter nerfs across the board were done for PVE reasons. Very very few were done for PVP.
Also if your argument is “balance druids” did you just stop reading halfway down those patch notes and miss that spriests got nerfed in the same patch?
A shaman killed me in under 2 seconds i tried to eat food
There’s no doubt it is a design crutch. When is the last time you saw a 5 SP group though, whereas 5 boomies were a common sight. It’s just not the same level of busted as something like pre-nerf starsurge. It just isn’t.
You could snapshot the sting in PvE with KC and it got extreme benefits from AP buffs and WB. It was very powerful in PvP but it ticked for like 60 dmg.
Yeha they nerfed SW:D and buffed VP by 10% if I remember correctly. At that time I didn’t understant why they would buff VP of all things. I still don’t.
