[Spoilers] Yeah, That Was Pretty Good

I am talking more of Blizzard’s various scandals. I think I saw one of tweet a few months back being fairly negative to Blizzard.

I’m just so sick of people judging the entire character of a human being based on a few stupid things they posted.

Twitter is particularly good at getting people to say flippant, cold and pithy things. Like I’ve seen dumb takes from people who are certifiably intelligent on that hellsite. Because even brilliant scientists have dumb errant thoughts and a machine designed to extract them was a terrible idea.

What I found amusing though is the people who were offended. Because I guarantee most of them yammer about free speech absolutism and how these snowflakes are out of control. But then they turn around and do the same ish

And it’s a particularly cruel thing to do to Americans. Most of us live paycheck to paycheck, our social safety nets are just a picture of billionaire’s laughing at you, and our healthcare is often completely tied to our employer. Suffice to say I’ve never felt the need to go after someone’s job because even if I hate them I probably wouldn’t want their kids to go without insulin or a roof.

She just said that the culture at Blizzard is systemic. Something about cutting out the rot.

At the time she was 100% correct. Firing Afrasabi was just cutting off the head of the hydra, it would grow back. Blizzard had to cleanse the whole workplace culture at Blizzard.

I find it strange Zerde you find her comments scandalous. I didn’t take you for someone on the side of Asmongold.

I think Zerde was making a point that Roux and Blizzard might not be on the best terms at the moment. Blizz might be mad at her for throwing shade while they were down - even if they deserve it. And she might be mad that change isnt happening at Blizz where it really needs to.

It looks like that relationship would need to be repaired, is what I think Zerde was getting at.

It is a lot of controversy, or drama if you will. But I hope she works for Warcraft a lot more. Her style of story telling brought the setting and characters to life in a way I have not felt in a long time. I loved Shadows Rising, and I didnt know about the controversy until after I read the book. I guess because I am not on Twitter.
