[SPOILERS] Shandris

Firstly, Guam is a US territory not a state. It’s not really the same thing as Bel’ameth. That being said though, I can honestly say as an American that I would not bat an eyelash if the capital was moved to some random unimportant town, or Guam for that matter. It really would not affect my life in anyway, just like this doesn’t really affect the lives of any Night Elf that isn’t moving to Bel’ameth.

i think the giant tree justifies it well enough, I too didnt like at first but blizzard done a good job telling use that we still have everything else, which is the only thing I really wanted

Imagine getting complete and unequivocal proof that the night elves have not abandoned Kalimdor and still being mad about it.

Imagine being told that’s not the issue and insisting it still is so you can feel like the winner on a WoW lore forum where it doesn’t matter.

Finally.

And with the the cutscene it gives me ample time to come up with a guild concept centered on Kalimdor.

And to be fair the capitol used to be in New York before it was in Washington DC. And moved hands during the Revolutionary War. I think at one point it was about to move to St. Louis after the Civil War and people did complain. And if they proposed a similar idea, people would complain now. You might not, but everyone else would.

In case you’ve missed reading your history. Isolated is how the Night Elves prefer it. Malfurion erected the Mists of Kalimdor to keep it private. (and to make sure the Highborne never found their way back)

You also seem to forget that the place is loaded with Alliance-only Portals including one to each area of Night Elf interest. those sacred lands that she listed… as well as Stormwind. Allowed Horde visitors have to come the long way around. And mages are now a thing in this new Night Elf society.

Yeah because they were serving a purpose guarding the second well of eternity… in case you’ve missed reading your history, the Long Vigil ended…

That does not solve the issues lmao… convenience of travel even RL doesn’t stop cultural difference man, and thats for people much less connected to their lands, and they are an investment to maintain that requires a reliance on magic. Also… thats not how portals work in actual lore lmao ‘this portal detects your political alignment’

the nelves are only gonna have cultural differances if blizzard lets them

Guarding the Well is now a shared responsibility…just catching you up on current events following the Reign of Chaos.

Why do you think I said that the long vigil ended… do you know what the long vigil is? From Warcraft 3?

Like… Drahliana that was literally my point lmao… the duty ended so the reason of the isolation ended… What argument do you think we’re having, and why are you approach it like “erm, actually” when you’re literally just reinforcing the point i was making my acknowledging it ended… this isn’t a gotcha moment.

Lies.

Disney princesses get much more build-up before taking the throne.

Honestly this is a bad example as the council of 3 hammers are regents. Well except Falstad, he will remain the leader of the Wildhammers after the council is dissolved once Moira’s son is ready to take the throne of both the Dark Irons and the Bronzebeards. I mean I don’t see a KING Muradin Bronzebread. Do you? Well he was King of the Frost Dwarfs but left that position when he regained his memories.

Which I would imagine might take place during or towards the end of The War Within since Prince Dagran II might be one of the main supporting characters for some of the content in that expansion.

Wait, people are upset Shandris is getting the leadership role? The adoptive daughter of Tyrande that exists since WC3 and has been her right hand for thousands of years in lore?

People are mad Tyrande and Malfurion get to have finally a break from all the craziness and just be a happy couple? Specially when story keeps telling how hard it is for the two to be actually together, between the long vigil, and the events of WoW, they earned their break, over and over, I am just happy.

Hence my, ‘Chill or whatever’ comment.

I’m happy Tyrande and Malfurion are getting some much needed rest, their presence in the story has always been awkward if I’m being honest.

Since the Kaldorei have been historically lead by their spiritual heads, I’d almost take this as a pretty significant shift in their societal structure until I remember that Blizzard doesn’t remember their own story and it’s very likely not that deep.

I think Shandris being appointed to leadership would’ve held a lot more story weight if Blizzard wasn’t giving away leadership roles like the Oprah Winfrey show. It takes away from the excitement of her new appointment when everyone just has to look under their chair to get a free Kingdom.

I ain’t mad, it’s just… ‘aight’

She deserves it though. Hopefully they give her a unique model eventually.

This has been hinted at for YEARS! She and Jarod were hinted at to end up being the next leaders of the night elves since at least Wolfheart. If anything I am glad the Alliance gets to PEACEFULLY hand off the reigns to the next generation instead of having our leaders have to die first!

Well…

Why do they get to be happy while I’m still out here doing ED weeklies, dumb Gilneas Reclamation quests, utterly not worth it Follower Dungeons and the rest?

How dare they be happy when I cannot be!!!

(I’m actually just fine with Shandris being in charge)

It’s frankly just nice to see characters get retired without outright killing them for once. Blizzard finally learned something, on that front at least.

Tyrande and Malfurion aren’t going anywhere, they even tell Shandris if she ever needs help they will help.

But it’s not as if they are electing the next president or in the case of Tess she’s the actual heir to the throne.
Up until now we’ve been told Night elves have their head figure by virtue of being Elune’s chosen.
I don’t get why Tyrande can’t remain in her rol as leader while having Shandris handle world affairs as she has so far.
Shandria could’ve easily be the intermediary between Tyrande and mundane issues or be named a temporary leader while their parents go on a vacation.
Tyrande and Malfurion have actually said that phrase before… “we’ve earned our rest” or something like that.
Also are they going to acknowledge that their society hierarchy is going to change? As I said… it is a big deal for them and should be mentioned at least for the sake of the pieces of lore we are left with.
