[SPOILERS] Shandris

At least till stuff goes down in midnight probably, meh i am at least glad to take a break for the next xpac, nelves and the playerbase need it

All of us Alteraac Valley veterans know him quite well. A motivational speaker with a voice so loud that it can be heard from one end of the Valley to the other.

And now the night elves have compleed another transition.

They aren’t the sole guardians of the world any more
That pretty much ended at Hyjal where Malfurion surrendered the bulk of Night Elf power to stop Archimonde. And it took all three factions of the time to seal the deal.

It’s a shared responsibility now that includes the Horde as well.

And where are you getting those numbers from? All we know is that new elf settlers are showing up every day. There is no implication that most of the night elf populace has moved to Bel’ameth.

Oh yeah, Amirdrassil is spawning Kaldorei into existence from it’s hidden cloning roots or something, they clearly aren’t coming from anywhere

It does not matter that they aren’t all leaving. The main, big one, being on the opposite end of the world from the actual homeland of the race that defines all their beliefs, values and connections, IS NOT A FOOTNOTE to handwave. It is, 100%, a big deal, and pretending it’s not is insane because even in the RL, where people don’t have magical bonds to their land, that idea is massive.

Because multiple times they’ve called it the capital. And multiple times in 10.2 said “we as a race have no other home” which even if they’ve walked back in terms of “ONLY HOME” that still implies their vision of this is the MAJOR one. Give anything to contradict that plan, given the cinematic makes it seem like it’s growing massively each day with more and more people moving in.

No they didn’t lmao. Their main home even more isolated than before man. It’s literally on a landmass with almost no actual connection to the world even in terms of historical interaction. This is further clinging to what they lost, literally moving to a forlorn corner isolated from the rest of the world and their own homelands. That’s everything Teldrassil was, but more.

They haven’t embraced mortality or change. They’re clinging to another world tree at the expense of what they still have, and what is open to the world and changing.

I don’t think anyone is going to shed any tears over Tyrande being written out of the story. Whatever was liked about her was thoroughly eviscerated over the years, leaving only a shallow husk of flanderization. Get this useless idiot outta here.

Writing out the old blood to get in some new characters is good imo

Monkey’s paw. Shandris’s writing in BFA was being a human lapdog, and has a very high chance of leading to further removing the ‘different’ elements of NE culture. In the same way old characters were eviscerated, new characters can fundamentally not represent their group.

Hqve you guys watched the cinematic between tyrande and shandris?( it is a beautiful cinematic, i truly enjoyed seeing tyrande and malfurion reunion).
Cuz serious tyrande says with all words that bel’ameth is not the only home of the night elves.
She says hyjal, val’sharah, ashenvale, and even teldrassil! She says that when the time is right and the ashes have settled down they will regrown it.
So
why are you all debating this again? Blizzard has clearly seeing thst they needed to be clear with this and they are been clear as crystal now.
It boggles my mind to try to understand the mind of some ppl here.

Not anymore! They just off the cuff decided to change the night elven governmental system and give the role to their daughter.

That said, I don’t personally hate Shandris as a new leader, she’s clearly the most famous night elf fit for the job.

Firstly, not all capitals are the largest city in their respective nations. Secondly, they did not walk back how Amirdrassil was their ONLY home, that was never the case. That was blown completely out of proportion. Bel’ameth is just a NEW home for the night elves, it is not and it will never be the night elves ONLY home. This is embarrassing, cut it out.

I mean, that’s going to be a problem either way. Because no character is allowed to be opinionated, or wrong, or have an un-democratic attitude. That’s a problem with WoW’s character writing in general lately and would be regardless of writing new or old characters. See: Maeiv.

At the very least we can sunset old characters on a, I won’t say high note because that ship has long sailed, but a note.

wow doesnt have population numbers remember the whole blood elves only have 1% of the pop left lol its doesnt mean anything

** Spoiler **

They did the same thing for Gilneas

They are moving away cool and loved characters like Sylvanas (and this one was done in the worst way possible), Greymane and now Tyrande and Malfurion.
This is a wrong move from Blizzard.

It’s also cringe how they literally made Tess Queen and Shandris leader in the same patch at the same time
I’m actually scared of the writing of The War Within

Not that I’m defending the Greymane/Tess issue but at the very least you can justify it by saying Genn was getting too old, even if by virtue of being a Worgen he is in an excellent shape, he decided to pass down the Crown to his daughter.
On the other hand we have Tyrande and Malfurion still in their prime (their ages were basically frozen for 10k years so they didn’t really grew old) essentially disbanding Kaldorei power structure and naming Shandris the new leader.
Again, I love Shandris but she should have been named Kaldorei Representative/Ambassador.

Which ones in Warcraft aren’t? And what other CITIES do the Night Elves even have lmao? We vaguely know Northern Kalimdor is supposed to have another from the books, but that was likely just using the RPG lore about Moonglade where it was more like what Darnassus became in WoW.

Alright normally i’d feel bad saying that someone is incapable of language comprehension but that’s literally the only justification here unless you’ve willfully ignored most dialogue haha, so my apologies.

After Garden of Secrets, Ysera and Tyrande’s “stay a while and listen” scene has her openly talk about when her people will have their home. Her PEOPLE, the entirety of the Kaldorei race, implying the entire race is homeless because the sentence makes not a single ounce of sense otherwise, because they have homes. https://youtu.be/OjiZAxsHvkU?si=b8-Ycbv8YNzfev1u&t=30

She also, in 10.2, says that the fire druids are denying their people a home. If they already have a home, this makes no sense. https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Lost_to_the_Flame

And in the actual quest named Amirdrassil, she says https://warcraft.wiki.gg/wiki/Amirdrassil_(quest)

“That is why we defend this tree, and when it blooms, Goddess willing, we will have our home once more.”

Tyrande lived there 11 years because thats how old the tree was in current timeline, compared to 10,000 (give or take a few) years in Northern Kalimdor.

Stop being dishonest lmao. It absolutely is the implication of what they’re saying because they made no effort to acknowledge, until now, the other lands that had been their home for 10,000 years.

Friend, I am not trying to be dishonest. Saying her people have A home doesn’t sound to me like they have NO home. Besides, even before this patch dropped we’ve known that wasn’t the case since the beginning of the datamining, with the visitor’s from all over Night Elf lands. Why are we discussing this? It’s at worst a minor error on blizz’s part. It’s blatantly clear that the night elves are very much still living in kalimdor. This is a good thing.

Really? After all this, Nefpas are still complaining? After all the cinematics and entire expansion diverted from course to World of Nelfcraft to sate their madness?

Night Elf players are genuinely unhinged, mentally ill people. Blizzard has obviously been reading this forum, as every time there’s a complaint (like “the Kaldorei are abandoning Kalimdor!”) they shove in something like a ridiculous Tyrande quote where she looks directly at the camera and says the Nelves aren’t abandoning Kalimdor.

Blizzard has bent over backwards, making an expansion of almost nothing but Nelves, diverting from the planned story in their effort to shut these psychos up, but not a single thing will ever satisfy them. No new capital, no amount of character development, no amount of implementing forum suggestions, nothing, nothing can satisfy these raving lunatics.

Delete Nelves from the game. The level of insane entitlement is beyond the pale.

Tess greymane is not even a worgen
They should’ve let her take the worgen curse in the heritage armor, or in any case she should’ve go full worgen in the ending cinematic after retaking Gilneas.

Having a full human as queen of the worgens is so laaaaaaaame

No, a GOOD THING would be moving the city to Kalimdor. Making their main focus, their hyped up new place.

Go and re-read your own post: I did not once say that blizz isn’t currently saying NE’s live outside Kalimdor, im refuting the argument that they never said it originally, which is why they had to walk it back because people got angry about it, and it absolutely was the implication of the language because the entire idea falls apart if they have alternate homes already that they have 10,000 years of history with as is

Think, for even a second, about RL humans, who dont literally, for all to see, have their souls persist when they die to serve their lands. The USA suddenly making a major city where our president lives in Guam would not be some minor thing that just happens and we shrug, nor would people from all the other places flocking to it be a minor thing with 0 implications on the culture. And again, WE don’t literally stay behind to continue serving it, PROUDLY, when we die! We don’t have 10,000 years of history and connection where sapient species who only live there evolved to have an emphatic bond and connection to us.

Yeah please do if they’re gonna continue to fixate on them just to trash their entire story, which was one of warcrafts most actual thought out and nuanced ones before “RENEWAL, DISSENT AGAINST TREE BAD!” became a thing with Amirdrassil.
