“The novel’s description reads like a political thriller” and then I do a little investigation on the author and it seems their claim to fame is YA Horror.
Aaand not a paragraph into the excerpt and Nathanos is scolding a Night Elf Forsaken for lacking patience. I’m beginning to suspect Blizzard legitimately forgot all existing Night Elf NPCs are canonically thousands - if not ten thousand - years old.
I especially love how she goes off on Calia - a woman who has literally DONE NOTHING. About as subtle as a sledgehammer to the face there, Blizz.
Also Jania’s teleportation magic works in Super Hell.
Danuser on Twitter in six months: “all you toxic fans criticizing the Icecrown cutscene. Don’t you know that it was that time of the month ? it’s all perfectly logical and therefore immune to criticism”
how and why did sylvanas kidnap Jaina, Thrall, and Anduin and bring them into the maw instead of just straight up killing them?
its usually safer and easier to kill someone than to capture them alive and drag them into your hell dimension, so that already raises questions. But also, why those three (oh, and Baine) specifically?
Also, as far as why sylvannas is kidnapping people instead of killing them
With the bare minimum of thinking, i gotta imagine she either needs their skills and abilities, or them as bait attract people with skills or abilities, to kill the jailer and usurp his place.
It could also be Sylvanas is afraid that, given the power/purity of these souls, the Arbiter might decide to directly intervene to claim them itself, risking an open war with the Maw before the Arbiter and the Covenants are weakened enough and the Maw is strong enough, which could throw the Jailer’s whole plan off a proverbial cliff.
That said, Ursuola, you owe me a new screen, the whole emoji text thing, ah, illuminated a certain running joke that’s been going on through General, Trade and LFG channels that I only just got and holy Blizzard, no.
That said, Tyrande going ham on somebody just because of their race does kind of track, but I am hoping this is more to do with “Okay, we’ve gotta 180 the Tyrande thing and we have no ability to comprehend subtlety.” thing that Blizzard does, or Golden has something amazing in the wings, because I am seeing a lot of narrative red flags for the High Priestess and her people, and I don’t like it.
Once again Baine is shown to be the most worthless Horde leader. Old boy is like the princess from Mario Brothers at this point. Pls remove him and Calia.
One line out of all the dialogue that immediately destroyed my sides was “their numbers are greater than the legion”
I can’t tell what’s more insulting, the fact that no duh you absolute maroons of course two infinite armies made of infinite resources are gonna be infinitely large, or the fact that we just have to one up the god damn legion of infinitely respawning demons as if they can’t just be equally dangerous. It’s gotta be bigger, badder, and make even less sense.
There’s definitely stuff I like there. I appreciate that Jaina has been holding her own and taking care of Thrall, Lord Admiral ain’t no slouch.
And you’ll never hear me complain about more Darion Mograine or Knights of the Ebon Blade.
I’m, miffed, about Tyrande’s characterization mostly because the best we can hope for is her being cleansed having done essentially nothing with the power up.
I’m in the alpha, and so far I really have liked most of it, and I was leaning towards kyrian for lots of my characters, but maldraxxus seems to be the best made so far.
I will say, theres basically no settlements or towns so it feels soulless.
