All I saw was pouty archers in the cinematic. Darkshore and Ashenvale, can level cap or above 50 NE’s go home to the zones, 'cuz clearly Teldrassil is needlessly cut off. I’ve gotten my NE Rogue to the base of Teldrassil, the red portal up is turned off. Even the NPC’s are still there.
The victim complex is real, but they have a history of absolutely screwing over the tauren and being racists, and then begging for help from the very people they hated in the past.
The race should be xenophobic inclined, however they would be so much better off if they actually cared about the Tauren and the issues that misunderstandings can cause.
NE’s and Tauren should be old, ancient allies, just politically separated as the two in game are Horde/Alliance split now.
In this and other interviews it’s confirmed that she’s getting a redemption.
Nope, but defeat her so badly that Ysera has to put her to sleep, and Sylvanas gets the sigil. Then Tyrande sleeps for the rest of the patch. When she wakes up at some point in the future, she’ll lose her powers.
That’s way more than the Night Elves will ever have.
That might have been before Teldrassil was burned, but after that the Horde had full control of Ashenvale and Darkshore before the Night Elves arrived in 8.1 to try and reclaim darkshore, but there’s nothing that ever stated that they’d get Ashenvale back, but we had official lore material stating that it’s a Horde zone.
Until officially stated otherwise, it will remain so.
How generous of Blizzard to give the Night Elves one of the 3 zones back that they took away, and not even let them go there half of the time. Not to mention a completely destroyed Darkshore
Mechanics wise, Darkshore is still a zone that switches hands, and Ashenvale remains the same as it did when it was updated during the Cataclysm expansion.
Lore wise, Darkshore is controlled completely by the Night Elves, and they hold more territory in Ashenvale than the Horde do, having reclaimed much of what was lost during the initial Horde invasion.
Blizzard seems to not truly understand how to meaningfully write meaningless conflict.
Races having warriors and warfighters dying in literal droves just to make the game “World of WARcraft” is lazy. If the deaths are not spun right politically, both in game and out of it, people will as they are now get fed up with the sheer lack of a meaningful point to it all.
But that is not true? In “A Good War”, Ashenvale was fully Horde controlled and after the Burning of Teldrassil, Darkshore was too. The Night Elves eventually reclaimed Darkshore after a few patches, but no sign of Ashenvale at all.
Not at all, I didn’t do a single quest in Ashenvale and there was also no lore material about it. It has been left untouched ever since the Horde claimed it in “A Good War”.
For the record, the lore that describes all of this is found in the mission table. Unlike Legion and WoD, the various missions that could be done by the player in BFA told the story of how the war was progressing in the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor. Ian Bates (aka Red Shirt Guy) was the first to notice this and he took a look at all the lore and put it all together, with the folks at wowhead making maps showing the conflicts for those who wanted to see what was happening in a more visual medium.
By saying,“She still burned Teldrassil, she’s still guilty of many deaths, and she still has a lot to answer for. We’re not forgetting that and we won’t be giving Sylvanas a pass.” ?
Which is the best thing for Tyrande because Night Warrior powers have killed everyone else.
Not that it’s a competition, but even if that were true, it doesn’t mean Blizz hates Nelves. It’s just a story they are telling right now.
Yea, it means she’s getting a redemption and will do one or two good things that don’t make up to those she wronged at all (since the night elf souls are obliterated) and be friendly again.
Yea, and yet she lost against Sylvanas, and almost against Nathanos in Darkshore… so the powers are completely useless.
It’s not a story they’re telling right now, it’s a story they have started telling 3 years ago that’s about the night elves losing everything, dying out and the ones responsible for it get glorified and celebrate.
It’s absolutely disgusting.
According to lore, the Legion and the Scourge left Silvermoon 14 years ago. In game they are still there. It will likely take for them to have a story there to put resources towards changing it to go with the lore.
To the ongoing thread, and this is a bit of reaching, so this is quite clearly debatable.
There were and likely still are rumors of a Twitter post from a Blizzard person being asked if said development company, Blizzard, hates Night Elves.
The post has since been removed. So, if it didn’t exist, where do the rumors come from?
I guess it’s the apparent lack of regard for Night Elves and how the Armenian genocide might just be part of the inspiration for the half Armenian, half Japanese race of NE’s to get some uninspired original lore. This is entirely a fan theory, however why did a race need to nearly die? Why do the Forsaken need the same treatment?
Blizzard is only into extremes, and the game suffers for it. In massive balance and lore swings, the game is painted with too broad a brush.
Just look at all the nerfs coming for fun classes with 9.1. Unless reverted, why log in? The game is driven by what’s FOTM, or flavor of the month. Instead of nerfing some, buff everyone else! There should be FUN in this game, and it seems largely and mainly missing of late.
