(SPOILERS) Books found in DF Uldaman dungeon

So warning the following does contain spoilers but I’d heard about the book on Galakrond awhile back but hadn’t seen it in game but thanks to someone on twitter now seen it in game but also found out it wasn’t the only book there :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

But all this raises a lot of questions around the true history of the old gods and the black empire, the Dragon Flights, The Titans and also The First Ones who appear once again with the mentioning of a Zereth Ordus.

Like have a feeling that the final boss may be connected to the Titans tbh :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

I can’t wait being 5 levels below Archaedas and getting nuked.

I hope they revamp deadmines next.

Odyn becoming a future villain is something we’ve considered for a while. Odyn tortured and enslaved Helya to his will. He traded his eye to an enemy to advance his own agenda. He is willing to let the mortal races suffer if it brings him amusement.

He’s never been a “good guy”. He’s been a fun character, but he’s fun because of his flaws. It was inevitable we would eventually be on the opposite side of things from him.

As far as Zereth Ordus or the Titans as a whole being evil…

Danuser really can’t help himself, lol.

Agree here don’t want Zereth anything ever again

As for this though

Yeah tbh never trusted them like they literally had a system set up to wipe out all life on Azeroth

I mean, we’ve known since Wrath that the Titans don’t care about mortals; they’re perfectly willing to extinguish all life on a planet if it doesn’t meet their criteria.

“I’ve seen worlds bathed in The Makers flames. Their their denizens fading without so much as whimper. Entire planetary systems born and raised in the time it takes your mortal hearts to beat once. Yet all throughout, my own heart, devoid of emotion of empathy, I have felt… NOTHING. A million, million lives wasted. Had they all held within them your tenacity, had they all loved life as you do…” - Algalon

Yes, they originally had no value for mortal life. My impression was that at this point the Titan-Keepers have learned of the honor and courage of the mortal races and come to respect them and acknowledge their worthiness.

I think it will feel cheap if suddenly all of the Titan-Keepers betray us and we learn the Titans still want to experiment us when we’ve been instrumental in defending Azeroth. I’m fine with Odyn becoming a patch villain but if the expansion ends with us fighting against the High Father or something that will be incredibly dumb.

The Titans are only interested in making sure the World Soul is safe. If we help and we’re in good order, great. If we don’t and we threaten its growth or slumber or existence, then bye bye.

It’s not good or evil. It’s simply their job to keep order and protect their kind.

I don’t see the Titans as good or bad. Everyone sees events from their point of view and the victors are the ones that write history. It is extremely common to demonize your opponents to increase the perceived correctness of your own cause. I’m sure there was both good and bad, heroism and villainy perpetrated by both sides but so far we’ve only heard one side of the story. The question is how well can Blizzard tell this story…

Your impression was wrong then. Algalon’s job was to purge all of us if he found any void corruption. They dont care about us at all.

???

We don’t even properly “defeat” Algalon in a sense. We fight him to the point he realizes that his assumptions are about us are wrong and decides not to carry out his duty.

We’re in trouble then, considering what we just saw.

Modern Blizzard can’t handle nuance at all. Heck, I read these manuscripts and it feels like Blizzard is about to paint the Titans as “colonizers”, lol.

They literally are.

They technically are like that’s their whole thing going around to different planets and enforcing order even it means wiping out all life on that planet :dracthyr_comfy_sip:

Oh cool, so the “first” expansion the danuser has full control of the lore and it still garbage. Why it doesn’t surprise me…

I mean, its the story of the dragons that is getting nuked with more cosmic idiocy.

MSQ doesn’t have that many dragons, mostly cultists, but at least the dungeons have some good dragon bosses. 3 out of the 4 of the DF S1 dungeons from DF have a dragon boss which is pretty cool. Love me a good dragon boss.

So, the madness-inducing cosmic world-tumors weren’t actually the bad guys after all, and the reason we think so is an eons old Titan-dictated memory-holing. The guys that have effectively caused us nothing but grief, sent potentially millions or more to their untimely graves, they’re just misunderstood victims.
I’m tired of these fool attempts to subvert expectations. I miss the days when spades were spades, but I doubt that’s ever going to make a comeback in my lifetime.

When was that? Because as far back as WotLK we’ve known the Titans were responsible for at least a ‘million million’ deaths.

I said the Old Gods were bad, you’re the one saying Titans are good.
