*SPOILERS* Are you supposed to do the quest "His Eye Upon You"

On my map, the quest icon is showing me that the quest is there. I wanted to keep the gift of N’zoth, but the icon on the map is getting annoying. Am I supposed to do the quest, and is there an option to keep the eye of N’zoth if I do the quest?

Yes, the quest gives you the option to keep the curse.

The quest to remove the curse is a followup with its own exclamation point to annoy you. I liked when you could Ignore quests in the past.

Finish the quest and it is a toy, can give you the curse all the time. I like the look with my current (purple) mog.

Gives buff “Gift of N’zoth”, same as if you did not finish the quest.

how do you complete it? I walk down into the room and I can talk to Nailok, I can choose to keep it, but the quest doesn’t complete.

How did you get a quest or option or whatever to keep the eye? I did this questline and never saw any way of that beyond just not finishing the quest. There was a dialogue option to ask about the eye, and then that was it.

To complete the quest you must choose to have the curse removed. After that, you will be given a toy called “Twitching Eyeball” which will allow you to “receive the gift of N’zoth”. CD = 1 hour.

Dont remove it if you like the buff. Yes you get a toy but you cant see anyone else that kept the gift when using the toy. If you are a collector remove the gift on an alt so you can get the toy and still have the gift on your main so you can hear nzoth talking to you

Abandon the quest.

So… I have the quest yet, i remember that Hazzikostas say that you will recive something diferent if you don’t remove the buff… so how much i have to wait? Is 2024 now… just saying… Long life to Black Empire (murmurs)

Bronzefury has used Ancestral Spirit on this thread.
Ancestral Spirit was super effective.

Ya i know is an old post, but i always go to boralus i notice i have the quest and i remember the interview when they say that.

I’ll say this was a worthy necro because with the last campaign quest you actually do get different dialogue if you never purged the eye.

Whoever held onto it for the last 5 years, good job

5 year necro much

lol I always skip the quest dialogues

Oh really? I have one character that never did. Which quest and what happens?

Right?? Or is this just another abandoned feature by blizz? I kept the eye of N’zoth. They teased something would happen later if you kept it, but so far. … absolutely nothing. It still shows up when I go back to BFA, but other than that, nothing has happened.

Or is this like their whole teaser for shadowlands that Arthas was going to be an important part of the storyline. . . then he is just a sad little fragment that billows away at the end. . . . .?

Wowhead posted an article a while back about different whispers Xal’atath will give you based on certain criteria during the final post-80 campaign quest.

I believe the different dialogues are based on:

You are not a priest and you purged the eye
You are not a priest and you didn’t purge the eye
You are a priest (who did legion stuff) and you purged the eye
You are a priest (who did legion stuff) and you did not purge the eye.

I don’t remember what they all are, but the “didn’t purge the eye” dialogues all treat you like an insider, while the “purged the eye” group gets “neener neener i win, you suck”
