Spoiler being Dagran the Second. I adore our precious nerd dwarf boi and wish for him not to experience a heaping helping of trauma like all other children of Lore characters. I mean, he’s already had it a bit rough out of the gate — dad was slain by murderhobos at the command of his gran’da, Moira and Magni are a mountain of daughter/daddy issues spanning decades, and he’s a bookish bean waltzing bright-eyed into his first conflict…
So, which new or refreshed characters are your favorites in TWW?
Hey look on the bright side. If he goes through a bunch of trauma, He could always go visit our good friend Mr Sunflower to get some therapy. So far I’m enjoying Dagran though. Skitter is fun too.
I expect a heaping helping of Trauma™ during the 20th Anniversary, since Blizzard specifically mentions the Bronzes are helping Moria go back to Blackrock Depths.
So I expect Dagran’s gonna get a one on one with his other Gran’da, and his namesake’s gonna call him a Nerd and try to feed him to Ragnaros.
I hope we can get our bean to sit this one out but we’ve had just as much luck as with Anduin keeping Dagran out of trouble. I do wonder having Brann as a great-uncle as well as (assumed) stand-in gran’da contributed to this habit. He’s also half Bronzebeard himself, so he’s bound to be a bit reckless.
I suppose that’s somewhat better than the alternative and finding out the Dark Iron side of his family wasn’t exactly sunshine and rainbows. Moira and Thaurissan connected over circumstances — he was the first dwarf to see her as she was and respect it, not what Magni wanted her to be. She also helped Thaurissan lean more into his good instincts and question his methods. Who knows if they would have made it in the long term but… it wasn’t exactly a charmed love story, Dagran. It was um… fraught. Yeah, let’s use that term.
I want to make him a little book nook carved out of a stone corner with comfy pillows and a built-in shelf for easy access to said cookies.
I’m pretty fond of the dynamic between Dagran and Brinthe. They seem to bounce off each other well, highlighting the others better traits. I also find Brinthe’s monotone strangely endearing. Kinda wish I could have her hair on one of my own Earthen.
I had the unfortunate experience of mentioning in voice chat “I like Baelgrim, he’s a neat character” and all my guildies went awkwardly silent. At least I was somewhat emotionally prepared.
