Spoiler Talk: TWW Intro Questline

So, I kinda rushed through the intro on my first playthrough, but the second time around, I slowed down to soak it in. There are quite a few NPCs who do not survive the initial Nerubian assault. Is there a list of Survivors, Non-survivors, and MIAs somewhere? Otherwise, I might just make my own. [Edit: I started making my own]

Some notables (updated Survivor list and Did Not Survive list, as of 09/01, story completed up to arriving in The Ringing Deeps):
MIA
Breanni, Lio, Serr’ah, and all of the pet battlers just outside the wall (like Bodhi Sunwayver) - Battle Pets
Ansirem, Karlain, and Modera (and technically Khadgar, too, presumably) - Council of Six
The Great Akazamzarak, and all of the Mage trainers in the tower
Winton Wolfe, and all of the Rogue trainers that we do not rescue
Bonegrim and Elizabeth Ross - captured by Nerubians
Uda the Beast, whose wolves are confirmed alive
Viktor Ebonfall, the NPC stuck in sea lion form
Jepetto Joybuzz, Conjurer Margoss, Aludane Whitecloud the flight master, etc
I now have 278 MIAs listed, including both Enclaves (Greyfang and Windrunner), and the Mage and Rogue class halls.

Kalec wasn’t even supposed to be there… so I think he’s safe and was in there as an error because he stood there during Legion. He literally quit the Council while talking to Khadgar at the end of DF, lol!

It gets a little weird about the rogue situation. Lorena Belle, for example, joined Wrathion after Legion (she’s his quartermaster in DF). Likewise Griftah, while not actually joining, he does hang out at the Obsidian Citadel selling his wares. Several other rogues can be accounted for elsewhere in DF (notable a few night elves now hanging out on Amirdrassil). I think it’s safe to assume all rogues and rogue-types who showed up in later expansions left the sewers prior to the events in TWW. There were still a LOT. Where’s Jorach, for example. He was leading the Shadowblades. Did he go back to Ravenholdt?

I’d like to add Dog, however. Dog is accounted for if you got him in Pandaria, got him to go to your Garrison in WoD and got him to go to Dal during Legion. You can find his food bowl on the beach. I like to think if he made it, so did Breanni.

There is also one NPC who does survive but in a side-quest kind of messes up and gets…stuck somewhere on the Isle of Dorn. Still technically alive though.

I don’t remember exactly where I saw her, but Breanni is a confirmed survivor.

I think some of these appear later in Azj Kahet. I remember running into Griftah.

There’s a whole lot that we’re captured by the nerubians that we end up rescuing in the campaign.

Not there yet, but did wonder about those being captured. But kinda weird about Griftah since he was in DF… and that messes up my theory that the rogues and rogue-types that showed up in later expansions probably being safe… :frowning:

Oh no, Aerith is very much dead.
In fact, her death happened just how you’d expect when you consider who her namesake is.

For s split second, I thought you meant Dagg, who was hiding in the vault in the Rogue area. Dagg should be added to my MIA list.

Maybe that’s later. She is standing with the others in Krasus’ Landing during the Nerubian attack.

Hadn’t noticed myself on my first run of the intro.
Starting to wonder if perhaps someone on Twitter is yanking everyone’s chain.

I found her. She is in the area where Archmage Celindra (Mage Portal Trainer) stands to greet you in Wrath Dalaran, and I guess she still stands there up until this event. In the back area where Calydus helps Warlocks speak to Thal’kiel, and where Meryl takes the Mage before porting to their class hall.

Aerith is indeed impaled with a long sword (not even remotely trying to use a katana here, sadly), but you can still rescue her. Mei Francis is in an adjacent room, and can also be manually rescued.

I should have a comprehensive list soon.

In one of the mountain tunels of the city you can find survivors of the Uncrowned in a back room.

I moved him to Alive, but yeah, it would’ve probably been a pain to remove him, and many others that are gone, just for people who are there after DF.

Is this in the Isle of Dorn? I haven’t found them yet and need to make a point of finding my fellow Rogues!

What about the violet hold? Are the prisoners ok?

Most of them are killed, canonically, by players (at least, all of the named ones that you meet, except Millie Manastorm). A few new ones do escape into The Isle of Dorn, and need to be handled by the player.
