[SPOILER] Old Gods theory and next xpac

So here we are getting ready to see what azshara and n’zoth are up to. It all had me thinking, what if everything going on is leading up to the revival of all the old gods next xpac.

Garrosh restores and merges with the heart of Y’Shaarj. What if this kept Y’Shaarj’s foot in the door and he was able to take over Garrosh and thus secretly stay alive? After Garrosh and Thrall go at it, Thrall thinks he ended him.

What if it was Garrosh/Y’Shaarj (GarroShaarj) who from the great beyond whispered to Vol’jin to make Sylvanas warchief? Because others already knew of Sylvana’s meeting with Helya to get the Val’kyr lantern to try to control Eyir so she could give the forsaken a future as a renewable race, but Greymane put a stop to that in legion.

Some of the death keepers were asked, but not ALL of them. Only Eyir, Bwonsamdi, and Lich King Bolvar. No one really asked Helya or any of the others. Perhaps it wasn’t Helya at all but one of the old gods.

Some say we killed C’thun and Yogg-saron. Well what if we didn’t. I feel like Yogg is a true trickster and is still very much alive. If you try to go by the retconned comics, Cho’gall tried to revive C’thun and Medan kills him. Well what if the Sword of Sargeras pierced C’thun’s tenticles and Azurite is now pouring into him, reviving him?

Why does this all matter? Well N’zoth and the other old gods, even though they used to be at war with eachother, still talk. So what if they orchestrated all of this once GarroShaarj told them to set the plan in motion? Now using the G’huun factory, and Azurite, they are able to revive the old gods and restore them in full, thus bringing about the 2nd coming of The black empire for the next xpac?

**** spoiler ****
What if this is what N’zoth means at the end of the Palace cinematic when he says “All eyes shall be opened”?

Just a crazy theory I have been thinking about for awhile. Only thing that seemed to make sense to me given all the Old god activity this xpac.

If this was thought provoking or you enjoyed the read at the very least, feel free to leave a like and let me know, What are your thoughts or theories?

Wow, That is well thought out and everything seems to kind of add up.

Very nice, but I don’t want to see Garrosh again.

I don’t think we will see “Garrosh” anymore… I think his body is Y’Shaarj similar to how N’zoth takes Azshara’s

*possible spoiler alert

well, from what i understand, we only see one part of the old gods that we’ve “killed”, in other words, we’ve only killed the part that was sticking above ground or above the surface (in cthun’s case, he’s already underground but part of him is above the floor). so i think the only one that is actually dead is y’shaarj. but as you say, since garrosh ate the heart, not so clear.

where as n’zoth, he’s already free and likely not even on azeroth anymore, as i think he portalled out of there.

I don’t think he left Azeroth completely as that is where these old gods were sent to by the void lords, but he definitely left his prison with her. Maybe he did return to the safety of his world which is within reach of Azeroth. And now with Mother no longer guarding the G’huun Old God Titan Factory, Perhaps he uses that to start the revival process to some degree.

watch this to the end and tell me what you think

He kind of lost me at 8:14 because we already left Azeroth for Argus on the Vindicaar. But it is an interesting theory. And his theory seems to coincide with mine.

One thing we know is there are more old gods on other worlds. The Arakkoa tried to summon an Old God in the Dark Conclave on Outlands even. Which would stand to reason they are on Draenor.

But Garrosh didn’t “eat” the Heart. Medan doesn’t exist.

“All eyes shall be opened” either means the Old Gods return in some capacity (less inclined to believe that and more of a different theory) or that his (denizens of Black empire) will be awoken from their stasis.

Back in Dragon Soul there was a boss that could " release more faceless ones from their prisons deep beneath the earth."

Since Deathwing was N’zoth’s greatest weapon and obviously would stake so much supplies on ensuring he completes his mission. It makes sense that N’zoth would have Yor’sahj the Unsleeping become a conduit to awaken more soldiers for Deathwing.

Y’shaarj was killed by the Titans. All that remained was his heart and the Maelstrom where they ripped him out.

And most of what we know about C’thun and Yogg is that we only saw a portion of them. So it very well could be that they could come back.

Eat wasn’t the right term. Restore and Merge with is. Don’t forget the Black Prince still very much pulls some strings to keep Deathwings wicked ways from going on. Perhaps he has his involvement too considering for awhile his spies have been watching us.

Wrathion-- while I despise him-- is a cleansed dragon. There’s nothing wicked there.

The G’huun Titan Factory makes sense if they can convert it to restore Old Gods, since it made a weaker one. Find Garrosh’s body and bring it there, restore Y’Shaarj. The Sha haven’t fully disappeared yet, so Y’Shaarj heart must still have some power in it somewhere.

Haha a typing mistake skewed that sentence. It has since been fixed.

Oh! LOL

I’ve don’t similar so many times. Pesky words that just don’t come out right in typing!

Restored, sure but Garrosh didn’t merge with the heart, he absorbed it’s power to become a physical avatar of it’s corruption. I.e. Cho’gall in a sense, but never merged with it like Bolvar or Arthas did with the Lich King’s helm.

We don’t know what the Black Prince is doing entirely, his spies are interested in events that are happening in real time, any tactician would use that advantage,

For example: look at Sylvanas in the Safe Haven cinematic. She had spies watching Thrall and they acted when the traitor showed up and asked Thrall to fight against her obsession on tearing the Horde apart.

This is my opinion based on what other theories I’ve read:

Wrathion isn’t interested in his Father’s legacy. He doesn’t want to be an Aspect. I believe he’s in search of how to correct the present course we are on, i.e. the corruption of Azeroth. His interest in Azerite, Dragon Isles etc. these answers we don’t have too much to go on anyways and can only wait till he makes his in-game appearance since the end of WoD.

All eyes will open

Even the one at the darkmoon faire?

well if ny’alotha is on a different planet, and its the city of the black goat with a thousand young (who presumably is n’zoth), then n’zoth may have went there

What if the end/defeat of the old gods on azeroth to a degree gets the attention of the other void god’s old gods around the universe of wow. Now they all begin to turn their attention to azeroth, and begin to march on azeroth, as we have seen one servent of the void gods leave azeroth into the universe.

I think it would be interesting if we took to space an traveled to other worlds seeking to unshackle them from the old gods their, before the old gods fully march on azeroth to corrupt it. Seeing other worlds like the home world an even the new home world of the Ethereals, see other worlds that the Void lords sent old gods to even.

Those make a lot of sense. Maybe now that N’zoth is free he isn’t just looking to restore the old gods on Azeroth, but to rally the ones on other worlds because we have been slaying old gods on Azeroth for years now and he would be the last remaining one who wants to stop us?
