(Spoiler) Jaina once again saves the day

I guess Baine could’ve… uh… used his… uh… he could’ve offered Bolvar a piece of his horn in the hope that the power of friendship would’ve saved Bolvar and thwarted the Jailer?

Kidding aside, Jaina is an extremely powerful mage, and she has also had quite a bit of experience in fighting the Jailer’s minions, and thus, his magic. In terms of experience and ability, she was the only one there who was qualified.

I suppose Calia could’ve used the Light, but she’s never faced the Jailer’s magic like Jaina has.

They were supposed to do that in WoD, though.

A shame really, because he’s been trash since pre-cata.

Well, we see that there are some fire elementals in the Maw. Besides, this is just blizzard’s writing, don’t think so much about it.

Jaina saves herself from the torments of the maw countless times, easily takes out dozens of mawsworn on her own, escapes her bindings in Torghast, kills her captor, and teleports to Oribos (A PLACE THAT SHE DOESN’T EVEN KNOW EXISTS) from the maw making her the only NPC capable of escaping the maw, and then all but solo’s the jailer.

Jaina is either the most poorly written one dimensional power house of all time or she’s in league with the Jailer. Or both.

If she is actually a protagonist then I fail to see why we are even needed, just have Jaina solo any threat that ever shows up because trying to pretend like anything can give her pause at this point is just laughable.

Because it’s in character for Jaina to be that way. That’s the one thing about her. Whether I like her or not, she is always reckless and headstrong (but well-intentioned).

Bolvar was menacing a couple of times during the Legion DK campaign when he dropped hints that he had a ‘big plan’. But then he didn’t do anything.

Thrall is too indecisive, and seems to still be suffering from the effects of his mid-life crisis. But for us hordies, he’s been giving us pep talks (and quests) since Vanilla. I hope he lets us have a Rallying Cry, if you know what I mean.

Baine is sort of there, and maybe he can hold the door open for us or something.

Sort of, then Legion really took him out by having him hand his weapon over to Shamans and just walk away. They just can’t help but bring him out for show every now and then.

Honestly he probably shouldn’t even be in the Shadowlands. There are other characters from Saurfang’s rebellion they could have used who opposed Sylvanas.

and I bet I wouldn’t have had to babysit Lor’Themar finding a new weapon.

She sucks. I hope Sylvanas kills her, along with tyrande

Blizz: “But, have we told you what an awesome mage she is yet!?”

I wish they didn’t, because every time they do, they only make it worse.

Honestly, at least I would have something nice to look at if they were to make him act like a mumbling moron in a dire situation even if it would be out of character.

You need magic to fight magic. Who else that was there was capable of doing so?

I’m wondering if the elements transcend planes of existence, as well. Since the Titans did banish them to a different plane in order to calm the chaos on Azeroth back when they first found the planet.

Because she’s the only magic user that surpasses the lot by a mile as one of the most powerful. You can’t really melee dps that down so thrall and co are useless.

I’ll take a peak at the video 'cause I highly doubt I’ll get anywhere close to even unlocking tc, let alone do it to view that cinematic in a timely manner lul :frowning:

Yeah Khadgar may have some strong magic but he may have a smaller mana pool then Jaina making him a type of glass cannon.

And honestly, how Jaina would go on about not knowing how much time passed in the Maw I wouldn’t be surprised if the writers just went “Well she’s so powerful because her power grew because she was actually trapped in the Maw for a lot of years! ‘Cause who doesn’t like wonky time shenanigans!”

Remember that time she went on a rampage and killed all those innocent people in dalaran? Because Blizzard’s writers sure don’t xDDDDDDD

No no, she didn’t technically kill anyone.

She just allowed brutal murders to happen while she looked the other way.

I think they do, and not just for the elementals. So far, we’ve seen that the shadowlands is not only for the dead and other cosmic beings can interact with the realms of SL. For example, the naaru presence in Revendreth, the Light being channeled by anduin in the maw, jaina still being able to use her magic. I don’t think we should take the SL as an isolated realm.

I feel like what they should have done is take him instead of Thrall, and have us run into him in the Maw intro questline with him fighting guerilla style against the Jailer’s forces. He IS a Farstrider after all.

Not that he’d really have helped in the specific cutscene being complained about in this thread, but at least Lor’Themar would be more useful than the eternal self pity party that is post-cata Thrall.

That would have been wonderful

But we’re at a point where they can’t have Horde characters being useful or looking competent.

The higher powers do seem to transcend planes of existence. The Void and Light fighting there is interesting to me. I actually came up with a very weird, yet plausible storyline for the Jailer and why he got banished, but then realized there’s a major plot hole in it for how the Shadowlands work. But the premise was a war between Light and Void within the Shadowlands.

I’m still curious to know why the Void went to Bastion, unless that’s what started the Forsworn. And it’ll be interesting to see why the Light flipped their shiznittles on Denathrius and Revendreth.

I’m disappointed to see that Calia did nothing when she could have helped by channeling some holy magic.

She could make herself useful by burying herself 6ft deep.
