I really hope they won’t put both of these talents in a “Choice node” in the Dragonflight talent tree. Preferably, I’d want both to be baseline, but that’s not likely to happen considering how they released the DK and Druid talent trees, so I hope we can have both without sacrificing too much.

Agreed. Say what you will about the content (or lack of) in WoD but the baseline kit for Mages was pretty sensational.
Not that I’ve really touched it for a long time, but Fire doesn’t seem like it needs too much adjusting just a few minor tweaks. Arcane and Frost though need some pretty major reworks to make the specs worth playing.
Frost in the past had some great things included as baseline like SI, FR, 2 blinks, and it 100% needs an update of IV. No more reliance on keeping it up 100% of the time to do mediocre numbers. Make it a CD worth using, move away from the TV upkeep build.
My biggest concern though is that all 3 specs will still rely so heavily on the IF/AM/ROP talents, which really are just base % increases. RoP fits for Arcane but it feels gross in other specs, in part again due to the requirement for high uptime for normalised damage.
I don’t understand why frost doesn’t have frostbite in pve XD… Whenever I forget to activate war mode, I hate my life. You spam super low damage frostbolts without getting any procs. It doesn’t feel very good.

Hopefully they’ll revert the Frozen Orb CDR changes now that borrowed power is out of the equation!

Sadly, they nerfed the actual Frost kit, and i seriously doubt they’re going to remember or consider undoing that nerf once the borrowed power is gone. They’ll just keep on going destroying this spec till noone plays it anymore
Agreed. frostbite used to be a pve talent. Now we have to risk getting ganked to enjoy frost as it should be in world content.
