I doubt /spit would have ever been removed if players hadn’t organized to harass boosted players by spitting on them. /spit wasn’t a big deal until a group of players made it a big deal by harassing others on a large scale. If players had shown more maturity and good old fashioned manners then we would still be able to spit. Funny how abusing something in order to harass others has consequences. Thank you Blizzard for taking action to make your game more family friendly. Keep it up!

hurting entitled boosty bois feelings

Those boosted boys as you call them are paying customers. It would be stupid for Blizzard to allow wide spread harassment of their paying customers. It’s not rocket science, it’s not cancel culture, it’s common sense.

and it makes all boosty bois look as pathetic as we thought they were  imagine getting irl butthurt over a simple in game emote

As far as I know, Blizzard advertises this game to kids. I haven’t seen parental warnings on this game, maybe there should be. While some of these players being spit on might have been grown adults with thick skin, many very likely were young children. This game is not a football locker room, it is a game targeted at kids. Kids shouldn’t be harassed simply for playing a game.

Don’t play online games if you’re overly sensitive. Problem solved.

Kids shouldn’t be playing online games with adults. Period.

While I agree you have a good point, I don’t think that’s Blizzard’s business model.

What a laughable change. What next, /fart removed to protect the feelings of those with colostomy bags?

You know what is also negative? Killing other players… are we going to get rid of that? How about you get a backbone. Who care if someone uses the spit emote?

Maybe because Classic? It was in the game? Why they did not change that in retail? Why did they include boost and purchased mount when they promised players for #Nochange so many times before?

The only reform they are doing is ensuring that the target playerbase is retail boys with their wallets. They don’t want those who returned for the classic experience they were promised to get.

Way to kill a successful thing blizzard.
