Spinning the flag

Is it a glitch that dots are just spinning you from capping the flag now? If its not a glitch it should be changed for sure. Warlocks, rogues and ferals all spinning flags with dots is a bit much not sure what else at this point is capable of spinning flags.

Can someone explain to me what spinning the flag means?

Its what you do in the base capture maps while playing your DH on one of those time crisis 2 gun controllers for the PS2. basically just stand near the base and pull the trigger repeatedly

I don’t know the actual origin of the term spinning the flag, but it basically means to prevent anyone from starting a capture on a flag by making sure to keep attacking them to break their capture attempts. Typically through spamming of any direct damage AOE like a druid’s swipe or thrash.
Basically just preventing the enemy from capturing the flag at all costs as long as possible.

okay cool, thanks for that info because i thought it was something else entirely.

In the earliest origin of the term that I know of, Rogues would use Fan of Knives to prevent a cap and for the animation of FoK, the Rogue does a pirouette.

See I was thinking maybe warrior whirlwind or bladestorm.

well he specified rogues and ferals ‘spinning the flag’. its not out of the question.

It could also be a reference to the spinning animation that the flag has while you’re capping it

I’ve also seen people suggest that it comes from Spinning Crane Kick, but MoP came out much later than the first use of the term, so I dismiss that one.

The paladin dawnlight hero talent spell also works like this*.
