Where are all these big scary spiders that were suppose to be so scary that Blizzard had to make a option too change them to look like crabs…all I see are a bunch of really big bugs not spider looking mobs to me now…
There was a cave under, it might give you a heart attack, you just gotta keep exploring
I think it was a quest
If you’ve been through all of the story quest in Azj-Kahet, then perhaps you’re not the target audience that this option was created for (you’re immune to the overwhelming sense of arachnophobia that apparently a big enough portion of the player base has that Blizz thought it was worth spending resources to address).
I know not a single person whos ever brought that up as an issue. And what about the cinematics if the Spiders are in one of those the crab changer aint going to change those, so do these arachnophobs also not get to enjoy those or know the story inside of them?
They probably have a system for flagging creatures’ vignette. So, replacing “Spider” with “Crab” would be fairly easy.
would be interesting to have the stats on what % of the playerbase total uses that option.
then we’d know if it was justified or not xD
i think its great to accommodate more people but i feel like once youve taken care of one phobia youve gotta worry about all the phobias for it to make sense.
that’s a long winding road…
Neither do I, but I know that my experience is not representative of the larger populace. That would require a random survey of at least 10% of the entire playerbase (preferably administered by a 3rd party firm with experience in statistical analysis of survey questioning & results).
That’s an excellent question! I would guess the cinematic is either blocked or there’s a whole different cinematic with crab models (I can’t see them spending the money on that, but it’s technically feasible). I have not tested cinematics with the arachnophobia option in-game as I don’t care that much.
