It is stated in the Warcraft III Manual that the Spiders of Azeroth are descended from Nerubians(same can’t be said for the Firelands, Draenor, Maldraxxus and the Aranasi Homeworld Spiders).
The Nerubians in turn are descended from the Spider Aqir. Since Azerothian Spiders were in close proximity to the Nightborne who became Fal’dorei they too have ties to the Aqir.
The Nerubians look like the Humanoid Fire Spiders that aren’t burning… The Old Gods clearly lacked originality when they ripped off Fire Elementals(both Naga and Spider Aqir are blatant rip-offs intended or not of the Azerothian Fire Elementals)!
Incidentally the Humanoid Spiders created from Maldraxxian Magics have smaller mandibles than the Nerubian Spider, Firelands Spiders, Aranasi and Fal’dorei.

Fairly certain that since Shadra exists, this is not canon anymore. They’re also similar looking because, well, model reuse. Also, there are spiders on Draenor, so unless Aggramar was wrong and he accidentally killed a few aqir when he was playing parent.
Sorry to be the fun police.

World of Warcraft: The Magazine Volume II Issue reveals that Brann found information that agreed with the WC3 Manual after Shadra appeared…from the Tribunal of Ages… Loken’s fake history…
Not Canon anymore is correct now…
In any case I said that Azeroth Spiders were descended from Nerubians not Draenor Spiders and infact had made that statement clear! What part of "same can’t be said for" don’t you understand?!
You didn’t need to mention Draenor’s Spiders and only needed to mention Shadra!
Regardless seems you are right about Shadra proving me wrong: the Spiders of Azeroth are clearly her descendants despite what Loken’s Tribunal of Ages says…
Her influence is probably why the Fal’dorei have different Mandibles from both Nerubians/Fire Spiders and Maldraxxian Mutants!
Why Azeroth spawned 2 Spider Races(the Fire Spiders and Shadra’s brood) is beyond me! The Old Gods clearly ripped off the first of these just as N’Zoth clearly ripped-off the Flamewakers knowingly or not when creating the Naga!
Old Gods lack originality!
Draenor’s Spiders seem quite natural and developed on their own… Same for the Aranasi Spiders… And the Maldraxxian ones.
Sometimes a point needs reiteration.

It is hilarious how spiders descended from Nerubians but most of them lost all their advantages, including self-awareness and a civilisation, in said evolution.

I think a lot has contradicted those lore sources since, with a lot that has already been mentioned.
Shadra, Draenor’s spiders including the vaguely humanoid one in the everbloom (Sharing animation sets with Nerubians and the Flamespinners), the Flamespinners themselves (meaning the Spider-like fire elementals), the Aranasi and their demon spiders.
It’s probably safe to assume that there’s various sources for “spiders” across the board, not to mention the ones we see in previews for Maldraxus.
I just noticed that he looks like the Arbiter’s construct right now.
