For those of you who struggled like I did to find diseased bears to kill in WPL, why are there so many spiders? I think there are more spiders in WPL than murlocs in every other zone combined. Why? Why?
At least it’s not snakes.
Certain groups of mobs have essentially shared spawns. If there are no bears where your quest addon is telling you there should be but only spiders, if you kill spiders the next mob that spawns could either be a bear or a spider. So kill spiders and your bears will spawn after.
It does work that way in some zones, but not with this quest in WPL. I did get all 8 after about one hour fifteen minutes. I don’t use an addon for that. When I found the first one I established a search parameter. Each bear, when I found them, were usually surrounded by 15 spiders who love to do the koolaide.
To survive such quests more difficult.
I needed Long Elegant Feathers for a quest in the Hinterlands last night. ‘Conveniently’ enough, Gryphons just happened to be scarce at the time but dummy wolves were basically having a party at every turn while inviting foolass Owlkins.
I hate Owlkins. Cenarius must have been quite drunk that night.
So I actually did the quest you are talking about a few weeks ago and encountered the same issue, no bears. Since the bears and spiders share the same spawn, by killing spiders you then have a chance of getting either a bear or a spider upon respawn.
Follow the spiders.
Owlkins are more likely to spawn at night in Hinterlands. I remember having that same issue a long time ago
Not follow the butterflies?
I needed gryphons, not owlkin. Owlkin are a plague.
