Spice up Mythic+

It would be great if they could add some spice to Mythic+ by introducing random buffs throughout the dungeon, similar to those found in Torghast. For example, after defeating a boss or mini-boss, players could receive minor or major passives that they can pick up at random. This would make the experience more enjoyable with your class. and make things really random and inconsistent. I really love Mythic+, but I believe the game could benefit from more variety and elements to make it more engaging rather than just doing the same old, same old. Even if it’s just a side event every few weeks, it would make it fun and unique. It doesn’t even have to be specifically this, but just something to make it different. I remember they did something like this in SL mythic dungeons, and it was pretty awesome, IMO.

It would be impossible to tune around though, as in the highest keys certain buffs will be needed to complete it.

If its limited up to 10s then why not, those are pretty casual anyway.

People who push keys really, really don’t want rng of which random buffs they do or don’t get to determine whether they can push higher that run.

This was part of the affix and it wasn’t random so it could be planned around.

no no no. do you want affixes? because this is how u get affixes. weve been complaining for years for them to remove affixes SO we can do the same old, same old. they finally remove them, and u want them back?

but to actually address what you’re saying, no. they cannot do this. its absolutely does not fit in the context of m+. if you find “same old, same old” boring, then im sorry to break it to you, but i think m+ isnt for you. m+ is about mastering the dungeons to push them to the highest level you possibly can. which is exactly why we were crying for the removal of affixes, because those of us who enjoy pushing keys were playing the affixes, with the dungeon as mere set dressing.

“random and inconsistent” is exactly what we DONT want, and what makes m+ bad, but it sounds like you would call that a positive? imagine you’re running a 14 or w/e, u get to the last section of the dungeon, you’ve got 5min to deal with a trash pack and a boss. you do the event that you mentioned, and roll an absolute terrible “buff” which doesn’t give you the damage/healing/survivability you needed to get the key done in time. 100% out of your control that you failed. (before ppl rip that apart and say “ShUdDa PlAyEd BeTtEr”, thats not the point, and you know it).

now, i understand that more than just key pushers do m+, due to the gear and rewards attached to the lower end of m+, but i think those people sharing opinions like this (im not saying you ARE one of those people, but this is the kind of ideas they tend to have, so it is what it is) are potentially harmful to the system as a whole.

what it sounds like you want is a separate game mode entirely. it can function like m+, with increasingly difficult dungeons, and add in the events, or affixes, or w/e you want. but as a side thing to do for funsies or xmog, or w/e.

and just as a side note, you were referring to the SLs Season 2 Seasonal Affix, which was pretty universally hated due to its incredibly punishing mini bosses, extremely lack luster and underpowered “torghast powers”, and the fact that certain final dungeon bosses were literally impossible to kill if you chose to skip any/certain minibosses, as their aura effects would get added to that boss (healing reduction, perma slow, etc).

Im sorry if this comes off as toxic, or mean, or whatever, it’s absolutely not meant that way. i just dont think this is a good idea.

I would love this but maybe towards the tail end of the season but not in high keys like 12+ because people are trying to push in those

I want affixes back.

And they can change how current affixes work too.

Can have Xal rotate effects within the same dungeon. Why have everything always be “the one?”

the torghast-themed affix was fun in shadowlands.
