GMs are using a default copy/paste response to this issue. They are sidestepping the issue entirely and are deliberately avoiding a real solution.

The rewards you receive from Worldsoul Memory events are determined both by how many points you earn during an event, and how many Radiant Orbs you have used to start it. Using 5 Radiant Orbs for the Many Radiant Orbs option will multiply your rewards by 5.
If you do not receive increased rewards from this option after earning the same amount of points, please report it as a bug for the developers to investigate.

It takes considerable amount of work and time to save 5 Radiant Shards for the only purpose of receiving 5x the amount of rewards. To only receive 1x the rewards (equivalent to spending 1 Radiant Echo) is literal robbery. It’s stealing. You’ve stolen my time and work collecting those echoes.
The only solution to this would be to refund 4 Radiant Echoes. To see that GMs will NOT be refunding 4 Radiant Echoes is deplorable. BUYER BEWARE. DO NOT SPEND 5 ECHOES.

this keeps happening and there is no way to get an answer from bug reports.
I can see this was moved to bug report from customer support by the 2 month no reply lock, but bug reporting so QA can verify is the way to get bugs fixed. GMs can’t assist with bugs.
But they can provide refunds in the meantime. They’re choosing not to.
The developers choose when and how GMs can assist. It’s not like the GMs just don’t want to help you.
There’s another thread on this, too. I’ve been in multiple raids now doing the echoes, and in each one someone has complained they did not get the proper rewards. This is an active and ongoing bug that is not being addressed, regardless of whether one feels it should be addressed by devs or GMs.

its absolutely horrible. I wasted 10 radiant echos, and my partner wasted 5, its not worth it. We really wanted keys so we could run more delves together. we worked hard, checking everyday world quest to get more shards. And yeah, Blizards copy/paste method is getting on my nerves. the same thing happened to me when I submitted a ticket.

Just ran into this issue today. Not going to bother with a ticket, but it’s a total waste. I used 5 radiant echoes solo. That usually ends up being around 120 - 150 score and around 120 - 130 coffer shards.
This round, all was going as usual until my time was almost up and another party zoned in (not sure if this matters). We were killing an elite when my timer ran out and instead of being booted, I briefly got a brand new 5 min timer/new echo quest message and only THEN I was phased out. With 27 coffer shards. Get some QA going, please.
