Spells with targeting reticle

So I have a small issue and to my knowledge there is no work around but figured I’d see if anyone here has any ideas. I only have 1 hand and play the game using alot of remapped keybindings and macros. For the most part I can do whatever content I want successfuly. Recently I start playing a lock and spells like cataclysm and ring of fire are a pain in my rear. The targeting reticle makes it necessary to switch back and forth from mouse and keyboard… not ideal. I have tried using @player and @cursor macros and both kinda work but still leave a little to be desired. @player requires me to be closer than a clothie should be and @cursor can be a pain due to camera angle. Is there anyway (macro etc) that will let me cast those spells at the tank or at my target without aiming with the mouse?
Any help or ideas would be appreciated

Nope. It’s either @cursor or @mouseover.

@cursor is for non-targeted spells (destination only, no literal target)
@mouseover works for targeted spells (requires a target)

I would strongly recommend a gaming mouse with extra buttons for your thumb. It’s a bit of a learning curve to build the muscle memory, but that will greatly help with dexterity.

Also, you can macro “/target party[1-4]” to your mouse. (A lot of PVP’ers do this). And combined with @mouseover or @cursor macros for non-targeted spells, you can effectively target whatever you need to with relatively little mouse movement.

I put ALL my reticle spells on my mouse. I find that being able to use my thumb on my mouse to click Rain of Fire then select the target area is extremely smooth. (And it’s very comfortable.)

Unfortunately, no.
@cursor is probably the best workaround. I prefer @cusor and @mouseover over the default reticle functionality, once you get used to it, it works a lot better.

Fortunately Dragon Flight has gone back to the traditional style of talent trees, so it gives you options to work around and avoid some of these spells.
