Spellfire Spheres

Can we please get the ability to remove spellfire spheres? They are so ugly! They also give information to the enemy that should not be available. The enemy can see that I am aa fire mage from a distance and they can see how much spell bonus damage I am capable of at the moment, Mostly , it’s the “how ugly” part that I don’t like.

should they get rid of blazing barrier? that gives it away, oh and casting fire ball and or pyroblast. what about combustion? turning all on fire gives it away to much?

honestly they need to let us hide them , they clash with mogs hard. Idc about the power being visable. Warlocks do the same. Its not really a big deal tbh. Just let us hide them like we could in legion GG EZ

I agree. I’ve been asking for this since TWW Beta.

The spheres are very ugly, but even if they weren’t ugly, I still have no desire to have balls above my head. What makes it worse is that they’re still not even centered above us.

There is zero functional value to them being visible, and really detracts from Sunfury. Otherwise, Sunfury is great. The gameplay and bird are awesome.

The way I see it, there are 4 possible options

  1. They accept that they are terrible and just remove them.
  2. They add a choice node talent on the tree for spellfire spheres that let you choose to show or hide the visual
  3. They add a glyph to let us disable the visual
  4. They ignore us and laugh at how the experience of the game they pour thousands of hours into is devalued by lame flying orbs

There shouldn’t be any kind of mandatory visual for choosing a spec of talent that is present outside of combat imo. Oracle for Priests, Sunfury for Mages etc. will hopefully all be changed. I’m worried about icicles in Midnight since they’re going to generate passively outside of combat.

With certain mogs I don’t mind 3 orbs, but the 5 (which is the better talent) look awful.

An option to hide them would be nice, but I’d also like options to customize them and other VFX more. Bring back glyphs!

Yes, they need to bring back Glyphs, as a fire mage i dont want to cast ice spells, i hope they add a glyph for ice block, frost nova and cone of cold, now that they remove 3 fire abilities :(. Imagine: Ice Block for Frost Mages, A big blaze in the ground for fire and a big portal for arcane. Casting frost spells aways takes me out of the immersion. I think in the terms of glyphs, mages need that the most.

I don’t mind the spheres, but 3 look way better than having all 5, since they now look really cramped above our heads.

My biggest concerns with the spheres is how long they take to generate outside of combat and how punishing it is to die as Sunfury on live. If you die mid combat, even if you get ressed, you effectively have no hero tree or tier set until you can generate enough.

I would love to hide those spheres, Im literally turned off from playing as fire/sunfury (which would be ideal for my mage due to rp reasons ) but I cant bring myself to be staring at that clutter. Just make a glyph or an option with the mage trainer.

Frost isn’t forced to have icicles anymore, it only makes sense to let us turn off spheres.

The “giving information” part is kinda irrelevant (nameplates are a thing, as are every other class animation), but the spheres’ anchoring looks absolutely awful. I actually think the orbs themselves look great, but the fact that they’re tied to your model by invisible wires, and it’s really obvious when you start moving, makes them look really bad.

Glyph please!

Honestly, I don’t think a glyph is desirable or needed. They have the tech to just make this a choice node talent for visual on vs off.

Day 580 of asking for the ability disable the visual of spellfire spheres.

Yeah. Blizzard totally listens to use and I’m sure there’s a change coming.

Not.

These are the reasons why I don’t stay subbed past 6 months usually.

Another week, another comment requesting that we gain the ability to hide/disable the visual of spellfire spheres.

I’d consider sunfiry if they orbited around my body some how like planets instead of the weird static placement that clips.

Chiming in that even I’m getting really sick of these things after multiple expansions of designing mogs to support them. I’ve had a bit more luck than our arcane friends as a fire main, but it’s still frustrating.

I don’t understand why they need to be visible out of combat

They barely need to be visible in combat, you have very little control over their recovery rate and are consumed on Combustion (on Fire), which you probably aren’t going to delay until you get more orbs.

They’re incredibly visible for how little information they convey, and if we really needed to they’re listed on our buff bar.

Would it kill them to give us a glyph?

Honestly, at this point they just need to give us a way to turn off ALL of these extraneous pixels. Every proc, every trinket, every cantrip item, most hero talents, etc. all have some kind of visual attached to them and they all get meshed together making your character light up like a Christmas tree with mismatched lights. They convey absolutely no relevant information, they’re distracting, and they make your character look atrocious. They simply have got to go!

If Blizzard don’t want to do it themselves then they need to let addon makers create a tool for that or let players edit the game’s files in a limited way because this has honestly gotten out of hand.
