Has anyone created A new spell book add-on that makes it look a lot better and more streamlined than the huge mess it is now.
Is it really that hard to use a book background then on the upper right hand side have tabs that read; general, class, talents, and specialization? You can even have the two talent trees each fit on one page. Same can go for the specialization, just flip the page to see the next specialization.
I just want an addon that lets me write in the margins. That way, I can write about some cute people I see or note about this cave I totally gotta explore. Like a little diary that I canāt get rid of that keeps track of all the ways I can murder someone.
I will be looking for an add-on. At first I thought it sucks but itās still usable. But now it stays overlaid when I try to drag items out so I have to leave an open slot to drag to. Then I close and move it to itās location. Weird it somehow got worse after it got worse.
If you just want the half-size again, thereās a button at the top right corner that does this.
The new spellbook isnāt really all that different from the old one. Itās twice as wide, so I rarely need to flip to other pages, and the font/spacing makes it easier to read. It takes fewer actions to get my spells now.
But the search bar is the best new feature. Iāve been playing a lot of unfamiliar classes during Pandaria Remix, and being able to search for a spell and not only find that spell but also see all of the other spells+passives that alter or benefit from it is incredible. Itās a valuable tool for learning your class without needing to open a web browser.
I do use the half size button. But it just feels inconsistent (I guess the word might be). Going from the spellbook, then clicking on the talents tab or specialization tab just seems jarring to me.
I understand that, but I do like the minimized version of it. Feels like the old way but more modern.
The one I donāt like the most is the professions window
Havenāt found any addon to make it like the old way. Only found the action bars and quest log versions.
And minimizing the professions window sizes doesnāt do any good because I canāt click select the recipe, I have to type in what Iām looking for. And, thereās still so much unused space in the minimized window, too!
I always felt they should provide a little animation window to show our characters actually creating items. For example, a tailor sitting in front of a loom weaving patterns, or a blacksmith hammering away on an anvil. And of course, these animations can be customizable.
I tested a couple (as in 2) Spellbook addons. I couldnāt get āOld Spell Bookā to work properly. Maybe someone else can: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/old-spellbook. I do like āDark Mode Spell Bookā, though: https://www.curseforge.com/wow/addons/dark-mode-spellbook. This (at least) allows the Spell Book to fade, when you move your character (and your mouse is not on the Spell Book), while itās open.
Oh, okay. I think itās because you have to set the keybind yourself.
There is a new keybind in your keybinds. Iāve done that so people can still open the old spellbook if they need to.
After installing the addon, go to Options > Keybindings > Old Spellbook and define your āShow Spellbookā keybind.
Do remember the AddOn is still in beta, so everything is not perfect, but Iām still updating it!
Is it possible to put the talent trees within the old spellbook interface? One talent tree per page.
Side note; I canāt see the open up the spell book and macros interface at the same time. They stack on top of each other instead of showing themselves side-by-side.
I seriously need an addon that returns it to itās previous appearance, and another addon that putās it back on the āProfessionsā button where it belongs ⦠literally every time I need to open the spellbook I instinctually open the āProfessionsā window and sit there for a second in confusion. Every single time.
This is one UI change I wish Blizz would simply revert.
