Remember the old training you had to do in the Alpha for spells and schools of magic?
Being a well trained healer was big… Wish we had that in classic. The need to train all schools of magic just like weapon skills. Something personally I enjoy seeing in a game is the need to use your crap and get better the more you use it. Not just slap more spell hit on gear and call it a day.

Like weapon skill, but for magic? I didn’t know that was ever a thing, but it sounds pretty cool.
It sure was, there are some vids showing off the first alpha build playable by people through a leak back then and it had the old talent points as well as spell school training like weapons.

Yeah it’s why when you level up you’ll see your 150/150 on holy as a paladin for example. We even had it for the languages as well. so you’d just see a bunch of people spamming random gibberish to level common. It was wild.

Leveling language to actually have people in your guilds that could speak to different races on horde would be really cool.
It was only a faction to faction thing. Like NE couldn’t communicate with other Alliance races unless they leveled up common. So you’d try and talk but you’d have random symbols or words kinda like we see now when the opposing faction speaks. Was neat for flavor, but a pain in actual practice. Though extremely early builds undead could speak common and gutterspeak wasn’t a thing.
Yea but the method language can be trained could be changed or tweaked. Maybe a method of finding books or completing quest chains. Neat ideas for maybe Classic+
Forget Classic+ let’s go Classic Beginnings. Just throw us in the Alpha phase.
