Spell toggle macro not working. help?

I play an unholy dk and due to some constraints with my keys I tried making a macro setup so I could toggle between spells easily without scrolling through the key binds bar, the issue I’m having is that when I use shift to modify the spell I see the icon change to fit the right spell but it’s casting festering strike still. I also have a version of this for my epidemic and death coil on my hotbar, same issue. Anyone able to help me work out the kinks?

#showtooltip
/cast[nomod] Festering Strike; [mod:shift] Soul Reaper

Edit I’m using a gaming mouse and the macro works fine on the stock keyboard, but not on the mouse keys. Anyone have a solution to this?

#showtooltip
/cast [mod:shift] Soul Reaper; Festering Strike

So 2 things.

  1. Unitframes eat mouse clicks so you need to use an addon like Clique
  2. Keybinds take priority over macro modifiers. By default shift 1-6 is bound to action page 1-6. You’ll need to unbind them to use them as macro modifiers.

I use the Razer Naga MMO mouse with 12 buttons on the side which by default are the same as the top row of my keyboard: 1 to = .

Wow doesn’t differentiate between the “1” key pressed on the MMO mouse and the “1” key pressed on the keyboard. As long as the MMO mouse is configured to send that keyboard value when it’s appropriate button is pushed, that is what WoW will receive and WoW won’t know the difference between mouse or keyboard.

  1. Check what keyboard bindings are configured in WoW for Action Bar 1, buttons 1 to 12. Those need to be the ones used by your mouse. Keep in Mind that num pad keys are processed differently than regular keys. For example, “Num Pad 1” is a different key than regular “1”.
  2. You need to be using the manufacturer’s supplied Mouse driver and extra software (Razer has software called Synapse where the extra configuration is managed).
  3. If you are using a profile or other game-specific configuration (mouse software switches to a WoW-specific configuration when it detects wow is running) check that it’s actually being used when WoW is running. Maybe just remove the game-connection and set that WoW profile as it’s default as a troubleshooting step.
  4. On rare occasions my mouse doesn’t switch to my WoW profile I usually have to do one of these things: close the special mouse config software and restart it, restart my pc, or delete the game-connection and redo it, before my
  5. Check the manufacturer’s support website. WoW is one of the biggest MMO’s in the world, it seems very likely that every gaming mouse manufacturer will have support pages dedicated to it.

Wow, thank you so much for all this Tink! There may be an issue with this because I can’t use Synapse 3 on a Mac computer, but I’m gonna go through the list and see if there are any things I missed between the keybinds and configurations. If you have discord I’d greatly appreciate having some help talking through this in real time.

Synapse 2 has a Mac version.
