Spell: Summon Water Elemental missing

Hi All. I am a Frost Mage and my Summon Water Elemental spell is not in my spell book. Is this a known issue?

Have you looked in the Frost tab of the spellbook?

Are you checking both the general mage tab and the frost mage tabs of your spellbook? If so I’m stumped lol.

Thanks for the super quick replies! Never mind it is due to a talent I selected, “Lonely Winter”. Now documented for future Frost Mages. :slight_smile:

I know I’m reviving the dead here but it’s January 2023, I’ve created a Frost Mage and Summon Water Elemental never appeared.

Have disabled all addons - still not there and re-logged - nothing. Only have 2 talents so far - Ice Block and Ice Lance - and removed both, re-logged just to check - still nothing. Re-added the talents and re-logged - nothing.

I’ve looked in the Frost, Mage and General tabs of the Spellbook - still nothing. Have re-logged, nothing.

Were Water Elementals removed from Dragonflight perhaps and I just haven’t read that part yet?

Water Elemental is a talent choice a bit down the Frost tree. You have to choose between the Elemental or Lonely Winter, which boosts your single target damage abilities in exchange for not having an Elemental.

One or the other, can’t have both.

You haven’t read the thread you’re replying in. Where the problem was the OP had selected a talent to forgo water elemental. There was no bug here and there was a proper explanation given for it’s absence.

It’s a talent choice between it and Lonely Winter. Requires 8 points in the frost tree and comes off the Cold Snap node.

He’s doing 2% of total damage which is significantly less than other talent. So you’ll never see water elementals ever again, unless he gets buffed to be competitive choice

@ Magnarok: yes, I did see that as a response to others having asked but that wasn’t the problem. It’s just a bit annoying when something’s supposed to be in game but isn’t. I haven’t got that far along in talents yet though…it’s only level 13.

Tried making another one on a different race - nope. Still no water elemental.

@Edgyjojomeme: Cheers for that - was wondering why I hadn’t seen any around - that’s why I asked if they’d been removed from the game.

Lonely Winter is the same node as Water Elemental. Water Elemental is a level 25 talent. You won’t have it at level 13.

It’s 5th row down, second from the left in the frost tree.

So yes, if you are level 13, this is the problem. You don’t have the water elemental talent.

If I give up Lonely Winter, I see no option for the Water Elemental

Why?
This was likely the first response Orrione found when googling where their Water Elemental is.

Orrione, the Water Elemental is now baked into Icy Veins as a CD.
