Spell Reflect?

After we lost our spell reflection and other classes have gotten reflects, it’s started confusing me more. Why is it the one class you would think could manipulate magic the most efficiently can’t even reflect a single spell back at their opponent?

I think it would be bad a…if we got a pvp talent or ability that was a better version of the DK dome. It would create the same size bubble but instead it would reflect every spell back at the enemy who casts it, have it last like 5s with a 2 min cooldown. Maybe call it something like force of the magi? Or Orb of Reflection?

If need be a limit to the number of spells it can reflect and the others would get deflected.

Or at the very least getting back a Ward of the Magi type thing that reflects the next few spells over a few seconds with a shortish cooldown? 3/3s/1min?

I just want my master of magic to be able to reflect spells better than a damn warlock!

And instead of giving us Frostbolt it should’ve been Frostfirebolt and made it it’s own spell school so it wouldn’t lock when locked out of your main school. Balance the damage from there.

Also Mirror Images reducing damage taken doesn’t fit what you’ve been claiming about mages since i’ve played the game. We’re the class that’s supposed to be slippery and avoid getting hit. Should be able to swap places with the images.

If we Spellsteal a spell reflect do we get the spell reflect or do they steal a spell from us?

It should reflect the spell steal, which steals a buff from you and gives it to the person who reflected your spell steal.

You would think. I mean even jaina does it in cinematics.

IT is a funny point you make though how other classes got reflects and the masters of magic have none.

They also took away blanket CS on counterspell.

Mages are the poor man warlock these days haha hard times

If it’s a Magic effect like Nether Ward from Warlocks you steal the effect or simply purge it depending on the individual spell’s rules (listed in the spell ID).

Shouldn’t the reflect just reflect the purge and purge one of your own buffs?

Spell steal isn’t reflected at all. If you spell steal a warlock’s nether ward you get nether ward - I’ve reflected many a mortal coil as a result. If it’s a warrior’s spell reflect just use an ice lance with no proc or fire blast if you have procs OR an aoe like frost nova and wait until it drops. Though even if you don’t, the warrior doesn’t reflect the spell steal anyway.

Well that’s not how that should work, but it’s good to know SS works on netherward. I’ve never tried because I just assumed it would reflect it too and the Warlock would just end up with my barrier.

I like to test a lot of things because I know stuff doesn’t always work as it should or as we think it should. I encourage you to test it for yourself if you’re curious.
