Something I’ve consistently noticed is that Spell Lock effects have a bigger impact on Priests than other classes.
Where a spell lock effect will usually only interrupt a single school of magic, for Priests they get locked out of both Holy and Discipline spells.
I just find it odd that while they are listed as different when the game must treat them the same. It’s just frustrating when I’m playing my priest, casting a heal, get spell locked, and can’t even put up a Power Word: Shield to help.
Working as intended?
The spells may be classified as discipline but they are under the holy umbrella.
Fire
Frost
Shadow
Nature
Holy
Arcane
There is nothing inbetween.

Discipline is more about the talent tree - not the magic style. Shadow spells still function normally if holy is locked out, as do Arcane (night elf Starshards).

Don’t think this is exclusive to priests. Paladins are the same way. If I get interrupted from casting holy light I can’t give myself a new seal, I can’t cast judgement, I can’t BOP a party member, can’t put a blessing on myself, etc.

Yeah Paladins definitely have it the worst.
At least Priests still have Shadow.
Paladins just have like nothing man.

Mind Control the person who silenced you, make then run out of range by the time they get back into range you can heal yourself. Bonus if you make them buff you first.

Bigger bonus if you fling them off of a cliff

I’m still enjoying having appreciable shadow spell options with most of my talent points in holy (I have the 5/5 wands and 5/5 spirit tap - and chose the rest in holy… look at my spiritually based spellpower… wheee!). Interrupt me, I will mind blast your face when the interrupt is on cooldown and shadow word: pain you… just because I can.
Are you specifically talking about Shield Bash? Improved Shield Bash is a flat 3 sec silence.
Spell lock also has a Blanket Silence.
AFAIK, Disc doesn’t get locked out when you get Spell Locked, but you DO still get blanket silenced for all schools.
I could be wrong here, as i never played a priest in Classic, but i also cant think of any Disc spells with a cast time to try it out on.
I knew i was forgetting something. Edited, thanks
can you MC a lock and make them life tap them self to death?
I don’t think so. However that would be so fun

Not yes to your thing but there is something else you can do thats arguably more fun.
Find a place that is high up or near the water. MC people and jump them off the cliff or into the water for easy kills. This uh… totally works in duels and can be used to kill people from your own faction if the fall is high enough.
This is interesting because in shadowform all disc spells are still castable and mana burn does shadow damage.
Gnomish mindcontrol cap can make players pop their cooldowns and do all kinds of wonky stuff. Mc cap a mage and watch him ap pom pyro your target for max lulz.
Class specialization is not the same thing as spell school. If I get kicked out of shadow bolt (a destruction spell), I can’t use fear which is affliction. But I can use immolate, which is destruction just like shadow bolt. Interrupts lock me out dependent on whether the spells are fire or shadow, not whether they are destruction/affliction/demonology.
