Ditto. Thanks folks for noting that DX11 solves this. I’ll inform my guild, as we weren’t having a fun time tonight.
I don’t think this bug has to do with the maintenance and is actually just a bug in 10.2.7 that wasn’t noticed prior to VotI Awakened week, personally. But it could be.
Also happening to our raid. Doing Kurog with invisible searing carnage and nearly invisible earth rings was… interesting.
DX11 fixed it for our raid members that had issues.

Another thing that works is turning the Multisample Techniques to “None” in the graphics options.
Esc → Options → Graphics → Scroll down to the Anti-Aliasing section → Turn “Multisample Techniques” to “None”

Throwing my voice in, seems to be another fun new thing with the dark heart release?
I know I could see them all last rotation. Can’t today.
4080, i9, etc etc.
Standin in the fire~
great fun.
Same for me. Not just fire pools but also earth pools on Kurog.
For those who don’t want to switch to DX11, someone suggested setting Multisampling Techniques to None.

No update to this issue after maintenance. Might try turning off the MSAA like suggested and just use upscaling instead.
same issue! Make using Sanctify rough! haha
Also have it. Multiple difficulties across different characters and play sessions. I’m sure I’m DX12 but I’m not able to test the DX11 work around.
Also affected Dathea. Can’t see where the tornados are moving to (only the arrow) because the ground effects for where they will be are gone.
It’s extra hard because it seems to be random ground effects that are affected, not all.
DX11 fixes the issue for now
Options > Graphics > Anti-Aliasing > None fixed it for me and my guildies.
Yes been having this issue with 2 different characters in multiple raids. Can’t see fire and sometimes other lingering damage on the ground. Evoker I can’t see the path of my healing breath or fire. Druid I can’t see where I’m targeting my healing blossoms.
I haven’t tried the fixes yet, but confirming it’s more than one raid and not a one specific character.
Just replying to show Blizzard that this issue is still occurring and very frustrating given this raid is a year old at this point.
It also happened to me and my wife yesterday night while raiding… On different PCs with different setups. Hope it gets fixed soon…
On my druid in heroic vaults raid, dx 11 was the only thing to fix it for us for now - couldn’t see the ground effects of fire nor healing targetting circles
This is happening to me as well. I ran the first wing of the Vault of the Incarnates Looking for Raid and I could not see the fire ground effects casted by mobs and bosses.
Yep, good catch. I was told that Blizzard is aware of this bug (and testing a fix), and that it relates to the MSAA setting in DirectX 12 mode.
So in addition to turning the Graphics API to DX11, turning off Anti-Aliasing also fixes it, if you’d rather do that.
Same to me…oddly not to the rest of my raid which made my role as guild/raid leader a bit funny.
Just to note, also affecting the targetting reticules of the “position flags” in the base UI.
