Spell batching is the plague

It’s something that I’d love to see fixed, and I’m an Elemental Shaman, lol. Elemental’s final talent, Elemental Mastery, is only supposed to let your next Elemental skill cost 0 mana and have 100% crit. Due to spell batching, however, you can follow up an Elemental Mastery charged Lightning Bolt or Chain Lightning with an instant spell like one of the shocks, and the shock will also receive the Elemental Mastery bonus. It’s ridiculous burst damage.

You should use your frost spells to be freezing your tears to use as weapons against those rogues.

Preach brother

Rogues have a solid 2 second immunity to all AoE after vanish it seems

Spell batching is more laggy and worse than the internet connections of the time that they are trying to simulate with it.

It needs to go.

That is so disgustingly broken. It may be the most broken thing in this game right now.

Most definitely. I can deal about 2300~ combined damage between Chain Lightning and my highest shock (Frost Shock), and I’m not even 60 with crap gear. I can’t even begin to imagine how lethal it would be if used by an exceptionally geared 60. The broken combo has been my crutch for dealing with 60s who try to gank me, and sometimes I’ll win the encounter because they just don’t expect it.

“Astral Plague has a nice ring to it. Goodbye, meatbags.”

Sounds like a mage needs to get gud.

That will probably be one of the only things that gets fixed in vanilla pvp lol, shaman shoudnt be able to get the big buff on both strikes.

Yes, fingers crossed. It’s a side effect of the terrible spell batching mechanic.

Well yeah you can line up two spells at the same time, so for whatever reason its giving a 0.1-0.2 second delay and granting both wishes. Weird

tru 10 char

It’s not the only place batching does stuff like this, but probably one of the more noticeable.

For example, Shatter specced Mages can AoE grind without Blizzard, but frost novaing a clump of mobs, and then casting Flamestrike followed by CoC immediately. Because of batching, both Flamestrike and CoC appear to get the bonus 50% crit chance of Shatter.

Same deal for single target, if we Frost Nova+Fireblast someone whose frozen, despite the first hit breaking the freeze.

What the hell…lol

I think it’s blind luck if that happens, half the time vanish doesn’t do much

Lets start this of with a FACT; spell batching is indeed 100% part of modern WoW and every other online video game.

Every class in Classic 2019 has a pile of new and old bugs, mages are no different. Heck mags likely have the least amount of bugs.

Improved kick. (combat talent)

Actually authentic, I have seem hunters block and die off aim shot crits.

From my point of view the mage did not block in time the aim shot hit and he died,

From his point of view he blocked and the aim shot hit… He still died.

I remember a little bit of this kind of behavior in vanilla, but it was very rare back then… Early vanilla actually, I think they had most of these kinds of things actually fixed by the end…

Yes someone at Blizzard does not understand the concept of an interrupt or an “abort.”

What should happen:

Mob begins attack – queued
Player successfully avoids attack by CC, interrupt, aggro drop, etc.
Mob attack continues because it’s “in the queue” and regardless of the fact that you stopped it.

Obviously the aborted attack is not getting removed from the queue, it is remaining and executing afterwards.

My experience:

Mob starts to crank up a lightning bolt
I sheep (successfully before LB is off)
sheep shoots lightning bolt through little sheep lips.

Blizzard, you DO understand that a successfully thwarted/avoided attack should not continue to execute, yes?

Is that faction specific because I have never observed that behavior with vanish and I have been playing my alt rogue a bit in world PVP; while fun so far vanish has been unreliable at best and breaks even if the player AE’s 20 yards+ away.

More interesting is that vanish often does not cause them to drop target.

I have much of the same issue on my hunter with FD being a horrible abomination that now requires I scatter shot FD trap instead of just FD trap like should be possible and was in actual vanilla but in this Classic 2019 it’s… well unreliable at best.

So many bugs that it’s actually disheartening.
