Genuine question for the masses, why are players trying to speed through dungeons as fast as humanly possible? Across the forums and a few guild mates are talking about tanks leaving people in the dust. I as a tank have also seen the GO FAST OR GO HOME mentality from a bunch of DPS as well. Tanks are the problem, DPS are the problem, and even some healers are the problem. This doesn’t seem to a role based problem. Im sorry some people didn’t get into or didn’t have the time to play the beta to know all the dungeons before release, so please let the dumb bear tank read the Dungeon Journal so he doesnt wipe is group…
Everyone, including people who normally do level 30+ keys, are doing Mythic 0s right now because Mythic+ isn’t out yet. This is the hardest content in the game right now so expect the hardcore in your groups. M0 are a joke to those players because they are so easy for them.
Because their play time is limited and they are trying to get as much done as they can. Also, becuase its fun and challenging for them.
As you said, the forums already have a bunch of these threads with arguments from both sides, did you really need to make a new one?
Mo faster, mo runs, mo gear.
At least you got that part right.
I didn’t play the beta, read up on anything, or watch youtubers. I still ran the dungeons quickly from the start.
Timed dungeons were a mistake
Im just trying to figure out when the hell did we stop being decent humans and start to feel justified in being nasty and toxic?
Do you think people still didn’t want to speed through dungeons before M+ existed? The mo faster, mo runs, mo gear still applied.
Speed running is nasty and toxic?
You shouldn’t be reading the Journal while the run is in progress. You do that beforehand. It’s completely acceptable to look at the map to see where you are going, but not to sit there and read the journal.
Didn’t feel that bad if your group is made up of classes capable of it, yesterday on my havoc dh we had a vengeance tank mass pulling in alga academy, basically every pull was dragged to in front of boss arenas and the dungeon was super fast. But the rando group comp was stacked with really strong specs
I agree, if the 4 other people in your group just want to bang out the super easy dungeon quickly and you don’t, you should stop being nasty and toxic toward them.
Im not saying speedrunning, speedrunning is fun as hell, but when a dps starts complaining in party chat because I am explaining a mechanic to a person who doesnt know and throws a fit, now thats toxic
I guess that depends on how long it’s taking to explain. These are M0 fights, not Mythic Raids.
Doesn’t mean they have to be jerks to those who don’t do 25+ keys and speed run everything. Taking an extra second to put a few details in your group listing doesn’t hurt anyone. “Speed run,” “Fast Clear,” etc is not that hard and then ppl who don’t want to do that won’t waste their time or the groups time applying to that run.
In the same token it doesn’t take long for you to ask if it’s going to be a quick run or not.
It was a 1 minute explanation, the guy had questions cause its his first expansion. Might have taken a total of like 3 to 4 minutes. I still dont see why people gotta be toxic about it.
That is true, however it’s been my experience that if you whisper someone putting together a group in LFG you get ignored. So, it works both ways.
That is why I started making my own groups in Legion and never join anyone else’s.
3-4 minutes of standing still is a long time.
Going quick in dungeons has always been a thing even as early as Vanilla. If anything, there is just more of an expectation to do your own homework and come prepared since dungeons outside of mythic+ are pretty toothless with the only real danger being overpulling. You have the dungeon journal that tells you what bosses do and even gives you a simple heads up on the important stuff broke out by role. Even if it is your first time there, odds are really good you can just follow the tank and walk where they walk and hit what they pull when they stop moving and start attacking.
It’ll calm down some in a week as mythic+ and raids will open and players like me won’t even touch a queue dungeon again unless, at most, I deem augment runes a valuable thing and bribe bags are up…and that hasn’t been the case for 3 expansions now.
No they weren’t.
So does this mean that people shouldn’t queue for normals and heroics for two weeks until the season releases? If a person doesn’t wanna pvp or level up alts during this time, are just bound to the profession grind until the “Real” players have their toys to play with?
No but understand YOU aren’t the deciding factor in a group. Typically a tank is and even if you are a healer, you hold minimal sway over the life of a tank (especially a competent tank like those of us running in those dungeons).
The best advice I can give is build manual groups and explicitly stating it is to be a slow and very casual run and take like-minded people or roll the dice you get a random group where people are fine with that.
