Speedrun Mode - M+'s replacement?

well sure I don’t deny that there are people who only do it for gear and stop at +15

but there’s a lot of people who push further :woman_shrugging:

I’m just saying the only reason the whole mode is popular is due to gear.

Not enjoyment

I’ll I’m gonna say (unless someone says something that makes me really go “huh???”) is -

You can suggest additional endgame activites/modes. Stop suggesting to replace existing ones.

102,022 characters US & OCE alone pushed to a score of 2782, in Season 3, which is almost 300 points higher than what was needed for KSM and Gear cut-off.

66,100 characters in Season 4, which was end-of-expansion and also a shortened season.

Again, people wouldn’t push beyond +15 if that was true.

If you’re going to be super literal then I’m just going to keep ignoring you…

Okay bye

Lmao, you make wild claims and get mad when facts prove you wrong. Go ahead and ignore, manufacture that echo chamber.

This sounds like fun if it is its own separate thing for cosmetics. But I wouldn’t like this as a replacement for m+

This just sounds like Challenge Modes with additional steps.

Which were fun, but as an actual pillar of endgame M+ is significantly more enjoyable.

Not true at all. I hit KSM in three of the four seasons and got to about 2940 in rating once. The attraction of M+ wasn’t just gear; for our guild, it was also the ability to break up into smaller groups and do group content. Our raids typically had 17 or so in them, and anything over about 10 gets difficult to manage due to all the voices in the same chat, etc. We had 2-3 “teams” that did M+ (although the rosters for those teams switched up frequently). A few people did it for the gear but what kept most of us coming back was the format.

If M+ wasn’t in the game right now, I don’t think I would have carried a sub through the entirety of Shadowlands. There were a lot of times that the only fun thing we were doing was the M+ runs.

This wasn’t just specific to our guild, either. We had two other guilds that we sometimes grouped with for raids that did the same thing.

I promise you we weren’t the only three guilds in all of WoW that felt this way, either. M+ may not be your thing but it is engaging content for a lot of other folks.

Once again I’m talking about the majority. Most people don’t do it when gear runs dry

M+ loot doesn’t scale infinitely, your entire post was based on this point

The problem of ppl who took a break can be looked as problem in raids and pvp as well.
You will be far behind from the person who started day one and the requirements to get into the group will always rise the longer the seasons lasts.

let me grab my  :salt:

There was a time not long ago I’d agree with you OP just to make mythic+ people angry, but now that my beloved Feral is one of the best mythic+ specs I think it’s great the way it is and mythic+ doesn’t need changing, aside from the creation catalyst being available day 1 of raid so mythic+ people are not forced to wait some 6 week time limit if they hate raiding.

And that could be better if We could pick a M+ lvl for a specific dungeon, the key should be only required to get loot from M+, but Devs should allow us to target specific dungeons for score and personal challenge.

So mop/wod challenge modes. A set time limit, 3 breakpoints (bronze, silver, gold) Max ilvl (scaled down to heroic dungeon ilvl or so)

Some people could only make bronze, some could achieve gold. Some skilled people could make gold par time look like bronze by doing 3-4min clears.

We had those and then Blizzard upgraded it to m+ in legion.

We have epic dungeons (karazhan, mechagon, tazavesh). The day they launch they can be very challenging for your average player and they usually reward some very nice gear.

It does cater to a wide audience because the timers are usually pretty lenient. Say you have 40min to beat a +15 right now. That seems easily doable by your average normal/mythic raiders at around the ilvl that it drops.

Meanwhile, the elite players are doing
+20s in like 10min or something silly. The only thing they get from doing that over you is like one more piece of the same ilvl gear, quicker gearing off the same ilvl that you can get and a much higher key to do next.

If you can’t do a +15 in 40min? Then you probably do a +10 in 40min or a +5 in 40min. The timer never changes, the mobs just scale.

Hello, I see you posted a thread about not understanding how the game works. Well, this thread is completely worthless, haha!

Thanks for your post and have a great day!

So you want to get rid of a mode that GD deemed a GOGOGO mode with a worst GOGOGO mode?

have some  watch this thread grow into a big POS and go to mars. Wanna bet ? :dracthyr_hehe_animated:

They tried this in MoP. It was fun, but it didn’t draw in the masses like M+ does. M+ is just an over all better system.

Though, I wouldn’t complain if something like this did co-existed, but ultimately what we saw were certain classes were objectively better than others so leaderboards were stacked with one comp.

Why M+ is better? It does this, but also rewards scaling rewards for scaling difficulties. Raider. Io is a community that tracks these times and basically ranks groups, players, classes, etc based on completions of key, damage done, time, etc.

Guess what you get for pushing these? Challenge mounts!

M+ is everything you want with an added challenge in scaling content minus ilvl sync.

Talking about mogs, do they give mogs comparable to legion mage tower? Weapon mogs.
