Speed running dungeons needs to end

A lot of people complained about Cata dungeons.

In MoP, they introduced timed dungeons as their own thing and went back to shorter, faster dungeons.

Then Legion introduced M+ which actively encourages a fast-as-you-can mentality, and there’s where we’ve been at ever since.

When I’m tanking, the first thing I do is tell the healer they are in control of the speed–to tell me to slow down or go faster. They’re the boss of me.

I met one of my best friends in a dungeon I was healing and he was tanking. He was amazingly good at watching my mana & distance. He didn’t even have to ask. Just slowed down when it was appropriate, and sped up when we could.

Seems like in Legion a loud fart could keep aggro, lol.
Evidently they created the mentality by doing that, then decided to take it back at some point.
I mean, IM literally watching these jokers lose aggro in leveling dungeons for god sake. (but they keep right on pulling and running, lmao)

Wipes.
In leveling dungeons.
how is that even possible?
lmao

I personally would like Blizzard to add + speed on all healer gear so they can keep up with my pulls.

My guess would be because leveling isn’t balanced and someone’s pulling aggro off the tank easily. I was doing that with my warlock launching chaos bolts last week. When Legion was current, everyone was around the same ilvl.

But these tanks have been running low level because they are destroying the DPS meters with the lowbie characters.
Every time I check its like a 18 to 25 level tank. They seem to be more than able to get high DPS a lot of time than higher level characters.
You’d think if theyre topping DPS and using their toolkit, itd be nearly impossible to lose aggro on more than half the crap theyre pulling.

Ive seen more healers walk out the last 10 days than I think in the last 5 years, lol.

I agree, it is getting out of hand AGAIN. If they are that hard core then can solo it instead

Not mythic------ regular dungeons!!!

I like that idea and may use it when I start mythic dungeons. I played a healer for a long while before dps, but I want to learn tanking. It’s sort of scary tbh because I’m not used to running the routes in front of people and stuff but I figure with practice I can do it.

I think I am pretty conscious of what is happening with the group and if it’s stressful or too easy. But communicating my willingness to let others lead sounds like such a nice idea. Especially for being new.

Just saying after reading the original post and my experience in dungeons so far… it’s not really always the tanks fault, or the dps. People just go go go and the dungeons are simply too easy to let it wipe the group so I run with it. It’s a rush trying to gather all of them and truly I go fast so I dunno why people pull anyways! Little speed demons in my groups lol.

Oh and to add something to this, and only because it’s almost always true… it’s usually the player that contributes the least that pulls ahead.

Then go back and play classic where you have to wait in trade chat for hours to get the group started only to have it fall apart after the first wipe. Coz that’s so fun right.

Try to do a +30 and come back and say dungeons are too easy.

This wasn’t about mythics I thought? At least not from what I read. It was about regular dungeons or heroic. Anyways I don’t think I can do a +30… or if I did, it would be quite an achievement for me.

Almost feel like your speed running this conversation lol. Mythic 30 wtf.

Are you actually asking for Blizzard to do something, or are you asking players to just “slow” down?

When I am playing with 3 friends, and 1 rando comes in… 80% of the group can communicate and knows what to do. Why would be just go slower for no reason?

Honestly, this post might just cause us to always vote kick any rando we are with, and just 4 man it. Would that be better?

I don’t think they are complaining about the speed, but more about the tank that doesn’t hold agro that out distances the group. And doesn’t loot. Leaving mobs behind that are agro’d by the dps trying to keep up.

Too many reasons to list but the go go go mentality is really toxic.

I personally don’t mind power leveling and speed running but if it done all the time that is very, very annoying.

Exactly this. I don’t have a problem on the BM hunter, but as a caster in dungeons these days, I’m spending more time chasing the fight than fighting it.

Are not the enrage mechanics in FFXIV a kind of timer?

Beat this boss before he finishes casting or everybody dies.

yeah, if the tank is still running and dps decide “i should plant my feet, pop all my cds, and dps while the tank continues gathering” that can happen. that’s a dps issue. everyone should stay with the tank. the pull begins when the tank stops moving, not the instant they enter combat.

Agreed. I no longer do dungeons (except for ones I have to that have quests).

HATE HATE HATE the RUSH RUSH RUSH.

I wish they had the option to solo dungeons with NPC help. Heck, let me group with my AI controlled alts so I can immerse myself in the world and story, instead of having to group with speedrunners.

AI controlled alts would be amazing, especially if you could share the transmog drops with them.

people speed thru dungeons because asia.
iirc koreans only get so long to play so the faster you go, the more stuff they can do. and its the same in china I think, china had a limit on how much you could play games.

now that china is no longer a part of the wow demographic it’s just korea, but the mentality is still a part of the wow community now. no one wants to spend 3 hours in a dungeon like doing a full run of BRD in bad gear, they want to AoE it down in 10 mins to do other stuff like afk and run donuts around the fountain in valdrakken, you know… important stuff.
