Speculations 4 withholding server names

This close to release, Blizzard already knows how many of each type of server there will be and what the server names will be.

There has to be a reason they’re still withholding this info. What are some of your speculations as to what those reasons are?

keeping hype away from classic, keeping it on bfa.

I don’t know if there’s really a reason, but if there was I would bet it’s because there’s going to be far less servers than what people are expecting.

Like far, far less.

And that would be a huge uproar of “Blizz has no faith in Classic, layering will last forever, etc, etc, etc.”

The fact that they have another stress test planned shows they still need more data before they can make a decision on how many they need.

Releasing the names before it is necessary would just give the complainers more ridiculous things to whine about.

That’s to determine how many layers they’re going to need, not servers. People showing up for a couple day test isn’t indicative of what percentage will stay after a month or more.

As if you have any meaningful insight at all as to what Blizzard needs to do to plan for go-live.

They’re hoping Chinese trade war server prices go down so they haven’t committed to buying them yet

The more they withhold the better. These forums don’t need any more ammunition to blow things completely out of proportion

That’s speculation

My guess is that they didn’t decide on any yet.

The number of servers being so low as to be controversial would be a reason that makes sense to withhold it.

They’re waiting until the last minute to let everyone know that PVE servers are too niche so we won’t have any.

They dont wanna have to deal with “That server wasn’t in vanilla… Slippery slope has started, #nochanges” crap

Does it matter if they tell us today vs. the first week of august?
No.

People will just get more worked up than they already are. Give them stuff to give us announcements about as release draws near.

Roll over, you’re snoring again.

More data required.

Blizzard is really trying not to screw up Classic launch like they did with Vanilla launch.

Because they gave us a date as to when we can reserve names…

We already know they’re going to be new server names unique to Classic.

I say it’s a … business decision.
