Sylvanas will die by the end of BFA, and 9.0 will be an Old God/Black Empire expansion.
Explain!
She is being set up as Garrosh 2.0, and we’ll mistakenly kill her. “At the hour of her third death, she will usher us in.”
i honestly couldn’t care less if we kill Sylvanas as having her be Garrosh 2.0

“At the hour of her third death, she ushers in our coming.” This old god whisper refers to Azeroth, no Sylvanas. Sylvanas died more than three. her first death was to Arthas. Her second death was when she flung herself off the top of ICC after we beat Arthas, as she no longer had a purpose. Her third death was during a quest in-game after being betrayed by a Gilnean she had resurrected. Azeroth has had only two. The Sundering, when the continents split apart, was the first. The second was the Shattering, when Deathwing brought up the cataclysm. Azeroth has yet to have a third death.

Why would they want Azeroth dead tho?
Maybe N’zoth is like the Overmind and is bucking his programmed purpose by the Void Lords.
He does say: “Only I can save you from the horrors to come.” Now that would be cool.
They don’t. That was the whole reason the Void Lords created the Old Gods, was so they could corrupt a titan world soul to the void. You can’t corrupt a dead world soul

I cleansed the gift, because it occurred to me. N’zoth has only made one offer so far. He’s made his dream my own, so he knows what I want, and he also knows I’m not the sort of girl who takes the first offer.
Deliver Windrunner at the least, and maybe Queen Azshara’s also unto my loving care, and I will happily relieve their shoulders of their swollen heads. Besides… he knows I won’t do well with rival claimants to his affection.
Oh I am ‘sure’ Queen Azshara was wonderful and all that, but she’s still only a mutated Night Elf. If he can make a real commitment, then I’ll be all too happy to help him with his little …heretic… problem. Otherwise, he can stay chained up and sing “Under the Sea” indefinitely.
I mean lets face if he thinks that he can wave his tentacles and expect me to swoon uncontrollably… he mistook me for a Nightborne or a Void Elf. He can find plenty of weak-kneed willing sycophants in the Twilight’s Hammer or Goldshire to accommodate his… needs.
But if he wants the best, he better be ready to pay top dollar.
