Speculation for the Future of Horde Leadership

Let’s look at all possibilities and talk about our favorite ones.

My theories.

1st, The War Council;
The Title of Warchief is Abolished and the Horde is now lead by a Council made up of 1 or 2 representatives of each faction in the Horde (Orcs, Darkspear, Tauren, Forsaken, Blood Elves, Bilgewater Cartel, Highmountain, Nightbourne, Mag’Har, Zandalari, and future members.) All decisions have to have a majority vote to be enacted.

2nd, Lightforged Sylvanas;
Sylvanas is unlikely to be killed for various reasons, My prediction is she will be Lightforged (Willingly or by Force.) and be ‘Redeemed’ that way and mellow her out. This is the one I put the most Stock in.

3rd, New Warchief;
Sylvanas will be replaced (Either she forced out or she steps down, I don’t see her dying, but that also works for this possibility.). The Most likely Candidates are the following; Saurfang, Baine (I hope not.), possibly Talanji, possibly even Rexxar (This is a good choice.) but any number of characters could fill this position, any racial leader or even someone unexpected, like Chen Stormstout (Who is a Founder of Orgrimmar and the Horde.) or Gamon (You all know Warchief Gamon would be best.). Maybe even Sunwalker Drezco.

That’s all I can think of for now.
Discuss and add other possibilities.

  • War Council seems unlikely.
  • Lightforged Sylvanas seems like something out of a fan fiction.

I’d probably faction change if that happened.

Though we all know Thrall is going to come back to the Horde after hearing of Baine’s imprisonment.

Which is EXACTLY why I see it happening.

Or … maybe … y’know … since we’re all “Champions of Azeroth,” we all get to be the center of our own universes and be the new warchief in the story arc. Kind of like WoD was, where we all had our own garrison … we can have our own city too and invite people in etc.

I mean, what’s really left after everything we’ve already done? :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Blizzard said months ago that Metzen agreed to do some voice overs for Thrall. My guess is he’s coming back as warchief.

…I actually liked the garrison.

We need Thrall back. He created the Horde. He’s our guiding light.

I think they should make Vol’jin’s spirit into the Loa of Warchiefs. The Loa of Warchiefs re-empowers Thrall, giving him back his powers. And then we’re back in business.

EDIT: And we get Vol’jin’s spirit as this behind the scenes advisor from beyond the grave. I love it, mon.

EDIT 2: And if Metzen is unavailable, change the voice actor. They did it for Illidan, after all.

There’s no point. He said he’ll do it at last years Blizzcon.

I’m aware. But he’s been in poor health the past year. I’m just saying if he’s unable to do it for whatever reason, Blizzard has changed voice actors for important characters in the past (Illidan being the most notable). So the voice cast shouldn’t stand in the way of game or story development.

But yeah I agree. Let’s not kill off or forget about Thrall.

A war council would be efficient.

Then they could kill off whole groups of horde lore characters at once, instead of just one at a time.

Can you imagine? Thrall on the throne with Vol’jin floating behind him and Saurfang guarding the front doors again.

Bring back Warrior Thrall and have him crush some skulls. Long braids and all.

I doubt they will do the braid part though lol.

Likely is that Baine/Saurfang will become warchief after Sylvanas. Then Blizz will just kill them off in the next expansion or the one after or make one turn evil.

I really don’t want that to happen, I’m tired of musical chair Warchiefs.
